Visa issues for Kochadaiyaan

Two actors who shot in Trivandrum could not get visas to make it to the earlier schedule of the film in London

Sanjith Sidhardhan

Here's the latest on R a j i n i k a n t h 's "Kochadaiyaan"! The co-producer of the film, Dr Murali Manohar, has revealed the real reason why the team chose to work in Trivandrum after canning most of the film at one of London's high-end studios. "Two of our actors could not get visa permits to make it to London. We also had to make room for scenes which couldn't be shot due to date issues of certain actors," he said, adding that the Trivandrum studio provided the world-class facilities required to finish the work. While the producer did not mention who the two actors in question were, sources contemplate it could be actors Ramesh Babu and Raju Sundaram, who were present at the shoot in Trivandrum.
"The shoot has been hectic and strenuous as it is set in a different and difficult environment. The actors had to perform without sets, makeup or costume, but they have all stepped up to the task. Rajinikanth has been a thorough professional and has taken to the job extremely well. Being 3D, the results are amazingly realistic and Rajinikanth's character looks stunning in the processed footage," revealed Murali.
With the filming done, the team is working towards a September release. "We are simultaneously working with the post-production aspects since January and have finished few sections of the film," he said. This big-ticket flick will be made in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi, each being a different version, and will also be dubbed in English.
