I honestly don't know where to start. One thing I wanted while watching the movie is that it should keep going and not end 😆 Yes, I was that engaged into the movie ⭐️
I don't see a point in revealing any parts of the story line, because it should be seen and enjoyed, not read 😃
First, coming to Vijay of course 😳 Seriously, when I first heard that Vijay was going to play the role that Aamir Khan did in Hindi, I had my own doubts. Because all that time we had been seeing him in social do-gooder and macho man type of roles. But when you see Nanban, it's unbelievable how he easily fits into the role of Pari 😃. Like you totally forget the Vijay you been seeing up til now. He had his own style towards how he delivered each scene and that was one of the major plus points. This is definitely my favourite performance of his til date.😃 👏 ⭐️
Next, Jiiva and Srikanth. I really enjoyed watching Jiiva on-screen. Starting as someone who was afraid of failure, and then finally transforming into a mature person who learns to live by the moment, it was beautifully depicted in the movie. And of course Srikanth, who also narrates the events, and the transitions that he also goes through. 😳 ⭐️ The scenes with Vijay, Jiiva and Srikanth are all wonderful. The three of them have amazing chemistry throughout the movie ⭐️
And who can forget Sathyaraj 👏 The role of Virumandi Sandhanam was tailor-made for him. He gives his own touch to the role he plays and you actually enjoy it each time he comes on (despite being the villain 😆 ) And not to leave Sathyan behind, who is also hilarious to watch as Silencer 😆
I'm not going to leave out Ileana either. This was a different type of role for her, compared to a lot of her other movies. And I believe she did do justice to what Kareena had initially done in the Hindi version. Her chemistry with Vijay is cute and fun to watch.😳
I thought all the actors were apt for their roles. 😃
Cinematography was brilliant in the movie. I loved the picturization of the songs, especially Asku Laska and Yen Frienda Pola. Harris Jayaraj's songs were pleasant to watch on screen. The editing by Anthony was awesome!
And coming down to the leading man off-screen, Shankar! I think he set a standard for how a remake should be. Because throughout the movie, you don't get the feeling that it was remade (despite of whether you've seen 3 Idiots or not). He understood what the movie was about, and perfectly projected it on screen in his own style. He also manages to bring out great performances from everyone.
The movie is a bit long however. I personally didn't mind because I was so into the movie. And the other thing I didn't like was the voice that was dubbed for Ileana 🤔 It felt awkward at times.
Overall, this is a must watch for everyone! The message that the movie carries is something that is needed. I think everyone can relate to the movie and it should be watched with the whole family. Even if you have already seen 3 Idiots, you will still enjoy Nanban. And for those who haven't, this movie will be a trendsetter.
