After a successful run with the Tamil thread, we are introducing something similar for our Malayalee members as well 🥳.

Each week we will be opening a new thread to allow members to discuss in Malayalam, about anything and everything, including movies!

As the issues between the Kerala Film Exhibitors Association and the Minister for films is yet to be sort out, more and more Malayalam films are postponing their release dates. The earliest one was Mammootty's 'Venicile Vyapari' directed by Shafi, which is now shifted to the 11th of November.

The latest we hear is that Priyadharsan's new Malayalam film after six years 'Arabiyum Ottakavum P. Madhavan Nairum' with an alternate title of 'Oru Marubhoomikatha ' is also postponed, now for the 11th of this month. This means that, if the issues related to collection of two rupees service charges are sorted out, M & M will return with their films to rule the B O, which are currently inhabited by OLF (Other Language Films), by the next weekend.

The Film exhibitors association is denying the releases of any Malayalam films till their problems are sorted out. Or else they are planning to release more Hindi, Tamil and English films which will bring in limited visitors to cinema halls.

One of the most impressive comeback of the year in Mollywood was that of young star Fahd Fazil. This son of ace director Fazil, who was completely rejected by the masses when he appeared as a Chocolate hero in the movie 'Kaiyetthum Doorathu' came back with more meaty roles with films like 'Cocktail' and 'Chappa Kurisssu' which earned much accolades for the actor in him. The latest we hear is that Fahd will be cast in the role of Shakthan Thampuran in the new historical which is under production.

Based on the novel 'Sakhthan Thampuran' by Dr Kalpatta Balakrishnan, the movie will shed light into the life of one of the strongest rulers of the state. The movie which is tentatively titled as 'Prathipurushan' will start canning by the first week of March at Thrissur. 'Prathipurushan' is produced by Aparna in the banner of Thrissivaperur films, while Sri Prathap will direct this historical. Ravichandran is in charge of camera while Engandiyoor Chandrasekharan and Samson Kolady will pen the lyrics for the songs.

Though their last two films, 'Drona' and 'August15 ended up as big disasters,Megastar Mammootty still seems to love the company of director Shaji Kailas. Both of them are currently shooting for their latest multistarrer 'The King and the commissioner ' at Delhi.

Anyhow, the latest reports are that 2012 will feature one more film of Mammootty with Shaji Kailas, this time in the scripts of A K Saajan. This project is expected to be funded by actor Vijayakumar.A K Saajan who is currently completing his third film as director- 'Asuravithu' with Aasif Ali as the hero will soon start writing for this new movie.

Meanwhile, the initials suggestions are that the scripts of ' The King and the Commissioner' holds enough mettle to create a fair success at the B O. Let us wait and see whether the movie will end the loosing streak of its lead actor and director.
