Veteran actress Manorama on Tuesday successfully underwent a surgery at a hospital in Chennai, to remove a blood clot in her head. The operation that started at around 11 am, went on for nearly 75 minutes. She is now recuperating in the intensive care unit.

According to Boopathi, the legendary actress' son, "The surgery is over successfully and doctors said the blood pressure and sugar levels of Amma are well under control. She is under observation and we hope that she will be discharged soon."

A popular actress known for her character and comedy roles, Manorama, fondly called as Aachi by everyone in the industry, slipped and fell down at the washroom of her house recently, resulting in an injury on her head. She was immediately rushed to hospital, where doctors hadd to perform a surgery.

Lavanya: Am not sure if the above information regarding the place she got hit is true. As per the newspaper, it said, Manorama Acchi had been to Kalahasti with her family when this occurred. She had a slip and hit her forehead on a rock when she had a holy dip in the lake at Kalahasti.
