Thank you Aamir for making a show that is so heart wrenching and yet so beautiful with all its ugliness.
1. Kudos to those incredulous mothers who had their daughters in spite all the opposition.
2. Bharti, a simple Aadivasi living on the street held the wisdom of the world in her arms- what a bright smile.
3. The numbers from Nawanshahar left me hoping and smiling.
4. My "understanding" that poor people wanted males was totally shaken and then it totally made sense. Poor people cannot even afford the sex scan and follow it up with the abortion. It had to be the rich and mad middle class.
5. I hope the Indian government applies the Korean model and put all the medical practitioners who engage in this cruel "Kans" practice be put in prison and their licenses revoked.

Yeah- my friend and I were discussing the show and we concluded that there are two types of families in India- one that hates to have girls and ones that love and cherish their girls. Hope to see the latter kind become the norm- of course that does not mean we need to look down on boys either- boy or girl- they are gifts from the universe. We need to learn to appreciate them.

why be biased on either of the genders

if its a boy, good, and if a girl, super awesome.

i think on the show it was also said Sanjay gandhi had introduced some concept.. to control population.

If I ever have a kid, it's going to be a girl I mean raising boys is such a boring thing. Girls are so much more interesting to raise.
