Suhana's Corner: My first Karva Chauth!

Hey everyone, I observed my first Karva Chauth fast for Ishaan and it felt really good and romantic. Of course, I wish I was with everyone back home, but with Ishaan by my side, nothing seems incomplete.
Moving into our own home and settling down was exhausting this week. Though I have to say, it was an experience to stay with Ishaan's relatives as it showed us a different part of Mumbai. Ishaan and I roamed the streets in the night and were very excited to see Mumbai alive and buzzing way past midnight! Mumbai sure has many moods.
I was soon bored being alone in the new house. Badi Ma told me about Karva Chauth and I decided to fast for Ishaan. There is something so romantic about the thought of fasting for your husband's long life. I love Ishaan so much. Badi Ma felt that I won't be able to fast but I convinced her otherwise.
Ishaan got all the stuff required for the puja and I even impressed Ishaan by waking up before sunrise to have the sargi. But as the day grew, I realised how tough it is to stay hungry. I was restless and starving. Even the puja had a comical twist as we thought we needed cow dung for the puja but a call from Delhi clarified that nowadays people use a photo instead. I didn't mind that everyone laughed at my expense- at least all hungry women had something to laugh about.
Waiting patiently for the moon to show up was a task in itself. More so, when back home they saw the moon while we were still waiting. Ishaan and I even got into an argument regarding fasting and shifting to Mumbai where the moon rises later than Delhi but thankfully the moon showed up.
