true very true...wish all the players are available not only just pak...

pak not playing due to political reasons
other countries don't participate fully due to International commitments...

ICC should seriously think of giving a window in the calender for IPL so that all players are available throughout the tournament..

I live in Somerset, every year we all go to see the English T20 and One day. My youngest 13 year old has been playing for Somerset for last 5 years from under 10 and now under 14,s and Inshaalh may be who knows!!! the cricket set up is so good in england they promote cricket at the right age and the facilities are just awsome , I wonder still they dont produse rough diamonds like the one in India and Pakistan who come into international cricket after playing on Cement pitches and Gali Koochay> Kartik plays for our team, we have Bravo , Justim Langer our captain. Its amazing I must say 20/20 was invented by county cricket and the music and stuff was nromal here minus the cheer leaders.

This is a real big news to me..Is he a batsman or a bowler?

So you are mother to a future English cricketer.👏👏 My best wishes to him and will surely pray to God that he finds his way into the International team....When he plays for England I will then boast in front of my family and friends that his mother is my aunt and he is my brother....

I was thinking for whom will I watch cricket when Sachin retires..Now you have answered that ? I know its still too far to think about all that.....Par u know hope par zindagi tiki hui hai.....Even though I haven't seen him play but playing for Somerset under 14 is not a joke..... 👏

Thank you Thank you, I will send you the link once there season starts. He isa pace bowler, but the problem is he is 13 and loves eating, we are trying to control his weight telling him he has got talent blah blah , but he doesnt realise that. My oldest one is a better one but was not selscted as his group was tough, but he plays from his school, and he is going to Barbados , as there is a Gary Sobers tournament in July where two schools from all the cricketing countries have been choosen and they will all play against each other. I wish he was selected in county he is a batsman and a bowler. My middle son also plays but he is not ambitious . So cricket is in our house hold like anything, my summer is always busy as I am always on the road droping them to different towns for there matches. Once there photo and a small article was in the local news paper , the interviewer asked them did there Dad taught them to play cricket , guess what there answer was !!! Nop My Mum!!! they were all in the football first and I hated football, so I start playing with them on the road, in the park ,start taking them to watch county matches and I succeded!!! I think people would get bored now so I should shut up. Go IPL go !!!

Aunty sach mein aap kamaal ho...I know how much craze there is for soccer in Europe specially UK....Its very tough not to get carried away by the soccer craze...But still u motivated them to take up cricket, you are just fab in inculcating the subcontinent cricket genes in your children.👏👏 Way to go....👏👏

And yes u r right, most of the members on this thread might get bored but I loved each and every letter in u'r posts...Do send me the links when the season starts.....

The new format is as follows(its kinda convoluted. so plzz feel free to ask ?'s if u don't follow a thing):

Teams will be divided in two groups of five teams each. But IPL Standings table will not be separate.

Each IPL team in the same group will play two matches against each other, on "home-away" ground each, counting to 8 league matches per team.

Each IPL team will play 1 league match each against 4 teams of other group and 2 league matches home or away against the fifth team selected randomly, counting to 6 matches per team. It results in 14 (8+6) games in the league matches before the next playoff round.

All league matches will count to 70 before 3 playoff matches begin, namely Game A, Game B and Game C.

Top 2 teams in the IPL points table will play each other in first playoff of Game A. Winner of Game A will go straight to the final.

Game B, 2nd playoff will be between teams at third and fourth spot in the IPL standings. Whoever looses Game B will be out of the league.

Game B winner will still need to contest in third playoff Game C against loser of first playoff i.e. Game A for entering into Finals of IPL 2011

Then, off course, the last match, IPL 2011 Grand Finale, would be played between winner of Game A and Game C.
