I feel there is a big difference between telling somebody that you have to live for me, and saying that x has to live for y.. What I have seen is that women generally of the older generation were the sacrificing types.. To motivate them to do something, you have to convince them that they are doing it for others.. So a husband telling a wife that you have to live to look after me, is one way of trying to motivate her, make her really want to live inspite of all the pain..

This is a Funny Story... While My Grand Mother was dieing... She told my Grand Father that They r ment to b togather for eternity so they will meet again in next life. He kept telling her that she has to live for him .& What will happen to me if u r gone..... When My Grand Mother told him abt they r ment to b togather ..... Always... One of my Bua told everyone..... Even to my Grand Father that " U r lucky that My mother still wants to b with U after living this life togather..... when My time come I 'll say this life is enough... I don't want to see anyof U again...... " But My bua was right ..... I always tell my hubby.... If u want to see me in next life ..... Change or else....
