well thats a part of US medical ethics...

i didnt know India mein aisa hota hai......even though SUHANA is NOT A KID......

yes...its different in India dear..Here in US every thing is private...and personal...
but in India its not like that... Its family.....
That doesn't mean that patient don't hv right to know what happened... yes..he/she has...
But in this case Suhana didn't go to meet doctor bcz of some reasons like may be head ache...

in north america,
the doctors would be sued for contravening the privacy rules..pipeda etc...ifthey gave info. about patient to someone else, even spouse or parent without the patients written consent...
rules are more lenient in india and maybe suhana gave her hubby a written consent but the whole family to show up, shows their concern.... to give them the benefit of the doubt....she may have consented toshare it...but not to go for appointment, when so stressed.....
if the doctor is a family friend or from meethis time....and knows suhana and ishaan are close knit family/marriage....who knows..

agree with the thread starter that medical aspects (not even the delicate ones)presented in SGP are not well studied and taken care of by the cv's.they left a lot of loose ends.it's a topic of debate if we start discussing abt the medical bloopers that happen in tv soaps it's a never ending thing.so why to waste somuch time and energy in it .regarding the consent of the patient, here in india u need to take written consent from the patient as well as their relation(dad/hubby/son etc) whenever any critical diagnostic tests or for that matter any treatment is done.but reg the diagnosis-well india still being a country where relations are given utmost importance, and a couple is treated as single, there is no such thing like the patient(suhaana) should give written consent to disclose abt her illness to her hubby/family.infact such illness is first disclosed to her hubby/family elders, prepare them for the consequences they are going to face and treatment plan.nw its upto the family to slowly prepare the pt and disclose abt the illness to her.here in SGP nobody is preventing suhaana frm knwing the truth,it's like these people knew it 2day,and suhaana may be a day or 2.it's not a thing that can be hidden forever.

p.s-just ignore the medical flaws and enjoy the performances of actors, their dialogues etc

Its not about ignoring the medical aspect, as we were saying for last 4-5 months that if they want to have this track as OBS please please do your homework. SGP team is a very professional team they have covered teny tiny details with utmost care so how come a track like this is not done properly, it wouldnt have taken much time and effort , they didnt even had to go to the oncologist , just google it or wikipedia would have guided them if they had problem in consulting a professional.
Whats done is done lets see whats going to happen next, the actors saved the day, if it was any other serial I wouldnt have been surprised but not SGP.

I don't think we should expect an Indian show to be fully correct while showing medical stuff. They need to add drama and what not and can't do it if it's properly done.
Also Deepak did wonder why Suhana had to do MRIs and everything and we don't know exactly which tests Suhana had to do.
I personally liked today's episode, as sad as it was. I guess that's how the upcoming episodes will be....

Hi
I am a silent member of this forum. I love SGP and so want to clarify this. MRI scan in pregnancy is not contraindicated, it is advisable to avoid during first 3 months but if the situation demands it can be done. Ofcourse this should be done after explaining a very small risk of exposing baby to radiation. I was however disappointed with the way the doctors broke the news to family. There was no warning or proper explanation. Though I understand this is for the dramatic effect of their diagnosis in serial context, I still think this could have beeb better handled.
Sorry if I offended anyone's views.

hi binny! i agree, it was added for dramatic effect but i really wanted and hoped that SGP's doctors would make a little sense. but i have to say i'm totally disappointed. 😆 the doctors had to tell what the tests were for and sushaan could ask too whether they were all related to pregnancy. and the doctor shouldn't have waited until the end to tell that she is NOT pregnant [i hated her tone there].

oh well, lets just enjoy the family and the relationships that we'll get to see through this track. 😉
