Arshicsji, as usual I enjoyed your satirical take on samud SR status very much. It is really amusing to see fans' outcry over this issue and their humorous outpourings provide the much needed comical relief. I think this confusion has been going on for long, in fact from their first night (1st or 2nd?) during which the audience were just treated with samud enacting a skit and glimpses of their initial preparations (sweet nothings, removing jewels etc) that never seemed to culminate in anything inevitable and the scene ended with saras's steadfast gaze and kumud's shyness leaving us perplexed to the core. Further the sudden turn of events (LN accident, gumaan arrival, kabir tamaasha, samud detective mission) kept samud occupied throughout. The rare and sparse saras-kumud scenes where they practised untouchability (only hand-holding permitted) and chastity and also kumud's modesty and her withdrawal symptoms and saras's growing care, concern, protectiveness in place of physical intimacy, passion, romance reaffirmed viewers' dilemma. (Of course, occasional hugs, not out of intense love or passion but out of desperate situations). Actually viewers suffer more torture from this hidden status of samud relationship than from the much dumb and dumber chandini bazaar and London mishaps respectively. In the past even after the much hyped genda-pool sequence we were left with a feeling of uncertainty but kumud's rona-dona made it clear. Similarly now we need to wait for kumud's pregnancy news to clear away our bothering suspicions. The writers can hardly be expected to reveal it through a scorching scene of samud or at least through an intimate and private conversation. On a serious note I don't want to see a pregnant kumud or a soon to be dad saras now as it will largely impact the flow of the love story(if any?) and will turn it into a typical family drama. Coming to last episode it was more of a timepass-filler episode. No one can be blamed because they need to fill in 6 days' slots in a week which is a drawback and in turn affects the quality of episodes. Also I couldn't comprehend kumud's behaviour because she was unnecessarily stubborn and demanding with saras and refused to look at the proposal from his perspective. Of course it is understandable that her family is of utmost importance to her and after going through hell she wants to lead a peaceful life with her family members. But at the same time saras, a successful businessman can't settle in RN permanently and the state of others (LN, Danny, kabir) remain undecided yet. As per original script kumud's character is level-headed, considerate, sensible, realistic, wise, sensitive and egoistic yet balanced with loads of self-respect and tons of love for saras. With the current set of writers all characters' basic traits have gone for a toss and they didn't even spare iconic saraswathichandra and kumudsundari. On a lighter note, the family handled the news reasonably leaving it entirely to samud. Saras-kumud nok-jok was nice and warm and the pampering and pacifying saras is always a delight to watch and he looks like an adorable child in those moments. Otherwise dansum were their usual self but kabir appeared out of place. It seems the custom of bhaalya-vivaah is in practice in desai parivar and the age conflict is a glaring error by cvs lacking commonsense and logic. Ultimately, whatever we are served with, we the loyal audience still hope for the revival of the show and expect the unexpected (of course in a +ve manner).
