ROFL. Much appreciate the superfast bytes, Arshi... 👏 Each day you continue to astonish & so does the show, albeit at utterly different spectrums...

Made me envision the epi as "Saraswatichandra, Chipmunk Style" though I can for sure imagine that even as a chipmunk, Pramad wouldn't be any more ani-mated.

Three points:

Why is Kusum back? Major. It shuts off the avenue of maiika for both the Desai daughters now. Plus, easy access. It also sets up Kusum as possible/foremost Pramad-Kalika pawn.

Prepare for Saras and Kumud to be at loggerheads regarding Pramad. I saw some epi pictures on Twitter... Aanshul Trivedi seems as one-expression, as before. Pity with all the unwarranted screenspace. A more nuanced actor here, could have utterly captivated the audience... As he pretended to be 'good'... By making a checkerboard of 'white & black' into his character sketch. That would have been a TREAT to watch. Pramad's one expression is so patented that it has become a joke... Because whilst watching him, I in any case, end up mirroring my expression, with his: W*F, right through. Our 'Dance' 😳

A FF superfast epi today, means that Friday's spoiler has also been played out. So let us see, tomorrow will confirm whether to what end the two weeks worth were released. Looks like this indeed will be over within a week... Pramad's time to meet his Maker, coming near maybe? 🤔

Cute Pramad-Kalika parallel: Pramad too fell at Kumud's feet today, doing a 'Kalika'... Almost as though Klever Kalika had given him the heads-up ki yehi funda Stupid Kumud pe asar karega... She gets a crippling high seeing people down at her feet, regardless of intention. And... Ittihaas gawah hai, this time again, watch the ground snatched from underneath Kumud's feet... Though not by usual brutal force, but by deception designed to dupe.

P.S. Alakh's also become a caricature. Pity. She was such a powerful figure in the source. Here, the CV's perpetually have her up on a podium... Bhashan only, no action. And whatever action she attempts, is shot down by patriarchy. BD, you shouldn't have thought of your 'image' today, esp not ahead of the one you call 'daughter'. First strike for BD, thus & an utterly regressive message posted out.

Edit: I also wonder if ki ab se Pramad baba ki bottle band? If they show him completely leaving alcohol, in just one epi (the compulsive drunkard that he is) then it will be stretching disbelief and creative liberty to the point where it breaks. Also, if so, Saras oughta think of patenting & marketing that wondrous 'paper'... LN se zyada paise kamaye ga... AA ka toh existence hi mitaa dega... Apne baare mein bhi kuch socho Saras dikra, Harvard dimag lagao, business opportunity dikhi che? 👍🏼

@Arshi, Yes I watched the epi... these days I watch with my mouth slightly open, looking a bit like Murakhdas, I'm sure! Completely clueless as to What, Why How?...Then I whistle and leave the room... Only to come back to applaud and blow kisses at Hgg and you...😆

Edit- Treated myself to the rerun tonight on Star Utsav. they showed the episode wherein Saras is desperately trying to be rude to Kumud! (Bang goes the glass of chas) and also Sunny makes his first appearance at VC haveli... Great fun, the rerun!

edit 2 - funnily the priest at the puja at VC's haveli (rerun epi) , was the same guy who was at the mandir-on-the-way yesterday!

Happy..

Those epis are something else entirely aren't they?

The other day I caught the toofan night rerun when Mr. Ehsaas is first outed by Saras...was a super demonstration of Ivy's observations of how good actors play off each other in a scene...

Oh ...those were the days when there was magic in SC!

kumud gayi kab aayi kab...so does this mean Desais will never know about Kumud being hurt physically and was finally back to Ratnanagri?? and even I am confused why is Kusum back to Kumud's sasuraal?? 😕
and is Kumud seriously connecting that mandir sequence to Pramad's maafi?? 🥱
woman, please stop already now!!

the only good thing abt the epi was the Goodbye scene between Saras and kumud...how beautiful it was...

too much logic ki vaat happened but lets see aur kitna torture we have to bear...

Goodbye scene was good, but again it doesn't fit in from Kumud's POV. Saras has been steadfast in I love Kumud, but yeh aunty bahut confuse karti hai, Saras chahiye ke pramaad? Decide nahi karti.

@ivy
Super post from you. And each day SC amazes me with the depths to which it plummets

With characters, with story, with logic.

But worse with touting the same stereotypical bakwas of achcha bura and haar jeet.

One of the scenes which had surprised me when it happened, was the mandir milk scene

Kumudsundari turned up her nose at empty rituals, and day before yest, by remembering that scene the cvs connected not getting a good husband to not following the mindless ritual of pouring milk down the drain.

It hurts so much when Hinduism is insulted and belittled like that.

By using that flashback and connecting it to Kumud's leaving home, was a slap in the face of what SLB had made Kumud to be.

Now the SPkaran of SC has happened, it is no different from the shows before and after it.

The new PH has done its job, TRP has risen and we can stop looking for any sense and meaning.

Alak's protest - a token , BDs relating Kumud's silence to Sanskar - as Hgg pointed out - another slap in the face of sanskars

Sanskar, like religion is misused abused and maligned in our shows, horribly.

Since I started watching this show with dil and dimaag both, to keep aside both is still difficult, but it appeals to neither at this point in time.

Anshul - he displays no range or variation at all, so he is very well suited to TV. All he has to do anyway is stand around and give one expression when camera focuses on him.

Gauti continues to emote, and react and respond to co-actors, but everything else has neatly fitted into the SP mould.

So pramaad will stop drinking because he is now achcha, he will be a "good" man, because he has chosen the "good" woman over the "bad" one.

Kya bakwas hai, I always loved the fact that people in this show were real, and did and thought like real people, woh bhi gaya.

Ab CVs have successfully completed the ritual of pouring not just milk but everything else that was good in this show also down the drain.

Ab Shiva will be appeased and will give a personal order to TRP Maiyya to bless this show!

Love it Ivy, I mirror Murakhdas (even in absentia), you do an Anshul!

Note- Chipmunks of the world, fight the slander!

Btw, I enjoyed the Saras-Kumud scene at the gates of VC haveli yesterday, Ivy. Was this because they were doing the "dance" in that scene? Looked like it to my untutored eyes, waiting to hear from you on that... May as well get something out of this show, huh?😉

Happy Dost! 🤗

At least in your defense, Moorakhdass could boast of having more expressions 😉

I haven't been watching SC, not after Monday, after I practically, technically shredded epi apart 😃 but I would attest to your superior taste, if you were left mesmerized (or is that too strong a word) then they probably were. We all know GR and Jennifer have it in them, the caveat, therein is when the latter actually chooses to employ 😳

P.S. Chipmunks of the world, I am left utterly contrite at my thoughtless comparison. Alvin, Theo and Simon, I hope you're listening 😭

Arshi,

I really appreciate and applaud this post of yours... Not a hindu myself, so merely my creative sensibilities are repeatedly offended, but to have something so sacred belittled with such craven disregard, even the Gujrati community that continues to watch SC, for them it amounts to nothing less than a relentless pillage of their literature.

The show has not only been dumbed down, but it has been stripped bare... It stands naked and shameless right now. So that we, of old, see and feel revolted. The new ones, those responsible for the marginal rise, will endorse, because they have become so desensitized.

I apologise if this comes across as too forthright, but I am amazed at the callous way, the dismissive and regressive way that values, religion, and the different God's are being used... Simply employed in the service of TVT's. And the fact that the ones perpetuating are able to make big bucks outta that. Is religion, just a business, nowadays?

Btw, today Pramad's volte-face had Kalika's 'stamp' all over it. Recall, the first time that she winded Pramad up and told him to get 'intimate' with Kumud? I am convinced that this is an amplification of that scenario, only. The difference is that Pramad will 'act' with Kumud, but will look for the 'react' elsewhere - Saras. I only hope that by the end of this pedestrian track, Saras still remains the man we all know him to be. And never, ever does he stoop to vying. That would be an insult to their love. To the 'ehsaas' (I was dying to use this word again!) that binds them. To the limits they both respect and hold sacred.

@ Blue, I hear "renunciation" loud and clear. For some strange reason, I love the sound of the Sanskrit/Hindi word for that - virakti - makes it sound so Romantic...😊

Nevertheless(!), Ivy, I wd still ask you - do watch the first scene of yesterday's (Thursday Sept 26) when you have the time, yes that's the one I am looking at. Mesmerised is too strong a word, charmed is good... 😛 But, It was the only scene in the whole epi (other than Saras on the bridge) where the actors looked like they were not waiting to go home, so maybe I'm unfairly prejudiced!

Besides you might actually enjoy those few minutes...😉

Wow, Happy, 'virakti' indeed does sound amorous... Duly filed away for future application! 😳

Only for you, dear Happy, I shall subject myself in the weekend... The verb being the key-frickin'-word here 😛 Maybe even do an analysis of sequence too, should I become 'affected' 😊

Ivy, since work pressures took over and the discussion on tech aspects of the show never completed, we would like you to provide more insights on that.

That is an area of expertise where we are all novices and you can help us to see the epi from a film making perspective also, which will be new for all of us.
