I know what you mean! I miss the old Saras. Yes he went into hiding for awhile after the crisis he faced! But it is high time he makes an appearance again!
As for Kumud? She needs to stop being the eternal "rehabilitator" and just stop. It is not her job to keep changing the world one screwed up man at a time!! She should get out of this marriage and marry Saras! Her true love! THAT will be truly progressive!!
