I gotta be missing something cause I "personally" don't understand why there is even a discussion pertaining to whether Kumud should remain in the abusive marriage or get a divorce. It's not like Pramad gently hits her around occasionally. (I don't condone any form of abuse-physical or emotional) I mean, he is very aggressive. The very first night when he had her clinging at the edge of a cliff was enough to make her bolt. Yet, some expect her to stay put and try to reform him/get help from shelters/NGO's for the sake of society, like seriously.😲😕
If she stays, then her only exit strategy would be death. Kumud is a bad example for viewing public. Period.
>>>>I agree with your thoughts, we would expect her to have walked away by now. To me, in real life she would be dead the very next day ( pillar falling) or strangled by Pramad. In both cases Saras saved her. Unfortunately, in real life women are not fortunate to have a person like Saras at home, in case they are in such a abusive marriage.
Looking at her situation, reforming Pramad should not be an option. He is not willing to accept her as his wife, how can she force herself to be one. It is a clear case, she can walk away. In my opinion, she intends to be around, because she is terrified by this second rejection. Her SIL dud mention that we never questioned why the first marriage was called off.
Well NGO- comes into picture not in case of Kumud, because she is fortunate to have Saras in the same house, have parents not too far away from her and has Badi Maa who will support her.
NGO's are needed by women, who are not so fortunate- do not have supportive parents, do not have a support system in case they walk away from their abusive marriage, or their age is such that parents are no longer living by then, living in a foreign country or very far away from parents. etc...
The writers have terribly damaged Kumud's image. So I agree, she is a bad example at this moment. However, her situation may be an onscreen example for women in similar situation ( though I personally hate it)
