'There is someone in my life!' she said in a firm tone, giving him the worst news he ever heard.
'No! It isn't true! You are lying' Saras said, holding her shoulders and shaking her vigorously. He never thought of how tight he held her shoulders as he was out of mind for a while.
He loved that Toni didn't hide her feelings. He gazed into her dark brown eyes, he saw that the hurt still lingered. If she had really moved on, he would have been reading indifference. The fact that he didn't gave him hope. With a smirk, he let go off her shoulders.
'I'm not sure of what you think you saw' she said, 'but it doesn't mean that things are same as before. You left me in the middle of nowhere.'
He knew that getting a second chance with her would not be easy, but he was not about to give up. He was fighting for his future. Her future. Their future. It was then Toni got a phone call, 'I must answer this call….it is important' she said with a pleading look at Saras.
'Why? Is he the one?' Saras asked. Toni looked at the phone again and answered it, not minding anything Saras would do.
'Hello! When are you coming? Today also Yash assigned you a task? Sam has got high fever….he's asking for you…we cannot handle him…we need you, I'm coming to pick you…I will talk to Yash' Sunny sounded concerned and worried as he spoke to Toni.
'No! I'm coming…Ask Kumari to check his temperature' Toni instructed Sunny like a nurse. She has to go, Sam would need her.
'Is he the one?' Saras repeated his question again.
'I'm sorry…I cannot wait any longer…I've got something more important to do' Toni said, taking a step towards the door to get out. But before she could take a few steps, Saras grabbed her hand and stopped her.
'Please…let me go…it's already too late' she said, trying to free her hand from his grip.
'Answer me…You don't have anything important?' he said, still holding her hand in his strong hands.
'Please let me go…My son would die' she knelt down in front of him, crying aloud.
Saras felt that the world paused for a moment, when he heard her saying that she has a kid. He could not believe his ears; she might be lying to get a better escape from him.
'Please let me go' she said in between her sobs while hugging onto his knees.
Saras let go off her hand at once, arranged his car for her to go home. He stood there frozen on his steps, watching Toni's moves as she called Sunny and asked about Sam's wellbeing. He did not even try to stop her this time, but still he could not believe that she belongs to someone else.
Toni was still on her way when Sunny called her again, telling that they could not even get a cab in such bad weather and at the middle of the night. Toni talked to Kamal and made him agree to take Sam to the hospital.
As soon as they reached the gate, Sunny came into the car with Sam who was nearly unconscious from the fever. 'I'm so sorry baby' Toni touched his face, hoping that he would respond to her touch. Sam shivered when he felt Toni's cold hands on his face, making her withheld tears to come out from their places. She felt that she was responsible for Sam's condition now and she knew that Sunny too would be going through a rough situation in life. She rested her head on Sunny's shoulder when she felt that she could not think of more; Sunny had lost his wife while delivering the child and now losing his only child would be intolerable for him now.
'Everything will be fine' Toni said, encouraging Sunny as he bent his head and touched her forehead.
Kamal adjusted the mirror as he heard Toni and Sunny talking and studied them cautiously.
Saras called Kamal who become later than the previous night, he wanted to know if Toni reached home safely. Kamal answered the phone in just one ring and told that he was on the way to the hotel.
Saras was lying on the sofa with his feet crossed and his hand on the forehead when kamal came into his room. 'Sorry sir, madam's son was very sick' Kamal explained why he was late, sensing that Saras would want to know the reason. 'Shall I tell you something?' he added again, politely.
'Hmm…carry on…' Saras said, getting up from the sofa and facing the window.
'I think ma'am is married …with a kid…he was with her, they were very close to each other' Kamal told him what he saw earlier.
Saras shut his eyes tight, gritted his teeth. He never expected to hear anything like this. Though he pretended nothing happened, he felt that his heart shattering into millions of pieces. He sent Kamal away saying that he knows everything and it should not be revealed to anyone.
Did Toni get married? Or had she been divorced? Who could be the man in her life? Why did he feel that she invited him? Was it just his hallucinations? Did everything change? When did she get a kid? Saras smashed his hand on the table and felt the pain pierce through him. He would get answers by himself, by hook or crook. Saras fixed his gaze at the window and looked at the dark clouds that filled the sky, exactly like his life.
It was one o'clock in the afternoon, Saras was still in his boxer shorts walking up and down his room with Toni's work records files. He threw the files and knelt down on the floor wanting to shout at the top of his voice. No, he could never lose his control. He rose to his feet and opened up his lunch tray and started to eat the delicious food. He did not have anything since yesterday evening. He could not concentrate on anything besides Toni, and he complained for her moving on in her life. How did she move on with her life when he could not? She has every right to do so, he thought. It was he who left her in the middle of nowhere.
Saras called all the receptions to see if Toni came to work, but to his surprise she never show up. He then called Yash, and came to know that she took a day off as one of her family members was sick.
Saras tried all his ties, trying to find a matching one. His sixth sense was telling him that nothing would go as per his plans today. He threw all the ties on to the dressing table and changed back to a maroon coloured Polo t-shirt and a Denim jeans.
'Sir, you want to go out in this weather?' Kamal asked, as soon as he entered into the room.
'Yes, I'm going home today…Did you arrange the car?' Saras said adjusting his hair and glancing at his reflection through the large mirror in front.
'Yes, sir' came Kamal's reply and Saras too walked out of the room with him.
Saras kept on fixing his gaze on the street which was almost empty because of the bad weather. No longer could he wonder about anything, his eyes caught a small boy who was walking along his father in the rain. He followed him with his eyes until they were no longer to be seen. He then clarified from Kamal, which hospital he took Toni last night. Kamal nodded politely as Saras instructed him what to do.
Sam was still in the observation room when Sunny decided to go for work. He has to go for work as per the strict rules now, and also he knew that nothing bad would happen to Sam when Toni was there.
'Toni, you need to get some rest…go home, eat something and come' Kumari told Toni as soon as she reached the hospital in the afternoon. Toni shook her head saying a no, but with Sunny and Kumari's efforts she agreed to go home.
Saras felt that all eyes were on him as he walked into the hospital, but he ignored that as he hurried to the observation room. Kamal clarified about Sam from the reception counter and they headed to the room the nurse told them. He gestured Kamal to wait outside until he calls.
He had seen the same boy before as well, he tried to remember. Yes, it was the first time he saw Toni after five long years.
'Hi' he said approaching towards the bed, for which Kumari did not reply but scanned him from head to toe. She forgot to blink upon seeing him; he was like a man who appeared only in novels.
'Toni?' he asked with a smile as he too noticed what had happened to her.
'Oh Toni.. she went home, but will be back soon' Kumari replied, smiling at him.
'Can I wait for her?' he asked again and she nodded in return. The only thing she could do was watching Saras and smile every time their gaze met.
'Sam..Is he the son of Toni?' Saras asked as he too knew the name of the boy from Kamal.
'No..he is my nephew, actually' Kumari answered, surprised that Toni's friend did not know that Toni did not have a kid yet.
'Oh! I haven't introduced myself yet' Saras sighed when he came to know about the truth, he still has a chance. 'I'm Saras' he out stretched his hand to Kumari and she too returned the handshake, 'I'm Kumari'. She liked his style as well as his heavenly features.
'So how's Sam now?' He asked about Sam, to start their conversation wanting to know more about Toni. Kumari explained what had happened to Sam and told him that Toni never told her that she has got such a smart friend like him. Saras ignored her talks with a smile that affected the tiniest nerves in her body and told that it was all up to Toni to share her secrets with others or not. He then adjusted himself on the chair, crossed his legs and asked her if she was Toni's sister.
'Yes, more than a sister now' Kumari replied paying her full attention to the handsome man sitting in front of her.
'Is Toni married?' Saras was straight to the point, but his question was a shock to Kumari because if he was a close friend of Toni he would have known about her life. She fixed her gaze on the door not knowing what to tell him.
'Toni?' Kumari said breaking the silence between them. Saras lifted his face and glanced at Kumari and then at where she has fixed her gaze. He saw Toni coming with Sunny, and a lot of thoughts ascended into his mind. Could he be her husband? No, as far as Saras knew Sunny was married to another girl. But how could Toni be with him?
Sunny's mind crossed with so many questions when he saw Saras there, but he greeted him and asked what he was doing at the hospital.
'I came to visit a relative and knew that Sam was here…just came to see how he was doing' Saras said, hiding the motive of his visit to the hospital. Kumari looked at Saras in amazement and then at Toni, but Toni neither looked at Saras nor said a word to him. They were more like strangers.
'Toni….Sunny..you two can be on leave until Sam gets well' Saras said with a smile and headed to leave.
'Hope to see you when you are back at work' he paused for a while and said to Toni, before leaving. Toni followed him, leaving the already confused Kumari in bewilderment.
'So you came here following me?' Toni questioned him angrily.
'I too wanted to see your husband…or is Sunny your going-to-be husband?' he said with a smirk.
Toni gritted her teeth in anger and said 'it's not your business at all. You don't have bother about me, why can't you leave me alone?'
'You want to know? Why I can't leave you alone?' Saras turned to Toni, held her shoulders by his firm hands, gazed into her eyes and said 'I love you, damn it!' He released her with her with a push, turned around and headed outside, leaving her stupefied.
Danny walked to the office, sat in the chair waiting for the model to appear there. He was burning in anger as he has never come across with such a stubborn model, so far. Before he could decide what amendments he could bring to the agreement, he heard a familiar voice say from the door ' Mr. Vyas?' As Danny turned they both said 'you?' Danny characteristically laughed out loud, forgetting the anger he had for her a while ago, and slapped his hand on the head and said 'so you are miss…'
'Bonu' she said and smiled at him her branded flirtiest smile.
As she sat opposite him in the chair across the table, she felt her heart beating faster than usual. She was afraid that she might change her points upon seeing his deep eyes. She had been feeling something for him ever since their first encounter in the office a few days earlier.
'Anyways, let's discuss the contract,' he said upon seeing a concerned Bonu. He took it as a cue and asked pertinent points related to the contract and discussed the changes that should be incorporated in it. He was more surprised to know that her points were different from what his assistant has informed him. He even felt guilty for what his assistant made her to do, besides what she agreed to do. He was grateful to deal with her personally by himself that helped him to know her more.
In an hour, they were both satisfied with the changes in the contract and she finally decided to leave. He even got up to escort her out of the office and asked her to go for lunch. He was annoyed when she said that she won't be joining him as she already has to meet someone for lunch. But she thanked him anyway and headed out in her sexy walk.
Danny hummed, not happy to think who she could be having lunch with and then shrugged his shoulders and muttered to himself 'who cares any way?'
Guman and Laxminandan were discussing about Danny's new fashion show when they heard a knock at the front door. Guman opened the door and welcomed Humi, who was at the door. 'Humi…You are back? I'm so happy to see you here' she hugged Humi and escorted her inside.
"Humi? What a pleasant surprise dear? How are you? How are your parents?' Laxminandan clarified about one of his closest friends Mr. Kapoor.
'I came yesterday evening only. Dad is super busy as usual and mom is busy finding me a bridegroom..hehe..' she answered politely and asked Guman about Saras. Guman told her that Saras spends most of his time at the newly opened hotel and he must have been busy not answering her calls. With no luck on her way, Humi decided to go back home before going to the Park View Hotel to meet Saras.
Sunny went to pick Sam from the school after the short break he took due to the sickness. His gaze caught the tall girl standing few feet away from the school gate. Her figure reminded him that he has seen her from somewhere but he could not remember from where he saw her. He followed her into the school as the bell rang, but he lost her among the crowd. He picked Sam from his school and headed to the gate quickly, determining to himself to wait for the beautiful girl he saw a while ago. As he moved to the left side of the gate he bumped into someone. 'Don't you have eyes to see?' Sunny turned around as he heard a familiar voice.
'Lee..Leena' Sunny muttered, he felt his jaws dropped open in surprise as he came to know that the girl he followed was none other than one of his co-workers. He has never seen her in anything besides the office wear and he praised the perfect figure she hid beneath the shapeless jackets she wore at work.
'Sunny…oh! I thought it was someone else' Leena said, smiling at Sunny who forgot to blink when she talked.
'Sam?' she asked smiling at Sam, who was holding his father's hand and asked about his health. Little Sam answered her and kept on talking her until they departed.
'Why are you so late today?' Toni asked as soon as Sunny and Sam reached home. Sunny shook his head with a smirk and went to his room still thinking of Leena who met him a while ago. He could have never imagined him falling for Leena, but he was proved wrong. He closed his eyes lying on his bed, and tried to focus more about his feelings. He had never even looked into a girl properly, after the death of his wife, but Leena did make a difference now.
Toni walked into the office after about a week, thinking of how she could face Saras as he said he loves her. She could not face him as before and she knew it. To her surprise the day passed without even a single glimpse of Saras.
Toni headed to the exit after her midnight duty, slowly as she was feeling sleepy. As soon as she stepped outside Kamal called her and handed her a piece of paper. She read it and followed him to the car that was parked in the portico. As soon as Kamal started the engine of the car, Toni felt her heart beating raced as she did not know where they were heading.
