I watch this show daily and all repeats too. But I think it is obvious why it is losing TRPs.
- IPL
- Wrong time slot (7:30 PM is faltu). They should show it at 9:30 PM or 10:30 PM when more people are likely to watch it.
- It is unable to create balance between modern and traditional stuff. At times some stuff shown is too conservative. And at times it's modern. One wonders how everything's being allowed if the set up is so conservative?!
- Dark, gloomy tone.
All other serials have a bright set up with colourful sets and bright lighting. The sets in this show are all dull coloured except LN's house. And costumes/make up of characters isn't that great either except for Guman's hotshot wardrobe.
- Too much given a hint of but all threads left loose!
At times they bring Saras' mom's suicide angle and flashbacks. At times extreme cold vibes between Dugba and Guman. Sometimes talk of haveli being mortgaged etc. BUT NOTHING has been shown in detail!
Where's the explanation or detailed description?
For eg. we see extreme suspicion, taunting and anger between Dugba and Guman. But has the serial shown what's the exact reason why they hate each other so much?!
Heck! People aren't even clear about the relation Dugba had with Saraswati!!
You don't expect aam junta to Google about the novel and learn who is related to whom and why people in this story behave the way they behave!
Viewers are not being told anything. They are just being shown drama but not told the reasn of that drama. So how will they keep their patience and keep returning to the show?!
And if SC team or fans want viewers to keep patience then the should also keep patience regarding TRPs!
It's just a 2 month old show! 😲
- The difficult to relate to tracks:
The gau hatya track was useless. Viewers in urban areas cannot identify with it all. Some could enjoy it for romantic scenes between SaMud but then those eyelocks and other flirtation is there in other serials too. What new was SC offering?
This Khotti baat is miffed with VC and family over Yash due to that cow issue only.
Very few can relate to it! This is a country where even rapists escape arrest ad SC shows a guy in jail for accidentally killing a cow!
Why is Guman so damn bitchy against VC and family and wants to see them ruined?
SC team throws bits about tat but does not reveal anything in detail!
Give viewers flashbacks to aid understanding of characters!
And this "I love you but can't marry you" or "stay away from me but I can't even stay away from you" type thing has been stretched far too long now! 🥱
- Too classy for aam viewer:
The average viewer is not going to watch each scene carefully and see meaning in gestures shown. Nor is he or she going to appreciate the writing and the depth in each dialogue.
And no one's going to make sense of this drama of a boy refusing marriage but still romancing the girl, yet going on romancing without changing his decision!!
- Characters lack spice:
Viewers like to see some entertainment value. A Dadisa of BV, Bhabo of DABH were orthodox and kind of vamp like due to their iron hand rule but their mannerisms and sarcastic dialogues made them funny also. The actress who plays Dugba is far more entertaining to watch as Maasa in DABH with her actions, accent and decked up finery.
Also, the Gujarati family thing has been done to death since times of Kyunki...in 2000.
There is no novelty the way BV was in 2008 when it had started.
- TYPICAL SLBisms:
Some stuff is deffo a straight lift from his films. And it takes away element of freshness. One feels like they've see this before. Running around, garba, daughter who's apple of her father's eye, one bitchy person each in both girl and boy's family PLUS even songs from SLB films played in background in some scenes!
Anyone who does not pay much attention or want to know the story of the book will take it as a khichdi of SLB's past films.
I am sorry but even I am beginning to lose patience now and at times feel like giving it up till story picks up pace and characters become clearer.
Loving parents, siblings or dream guy's tender romance are not the only things I want to watch. What's new? What's the exact story?
