Viday Chatur(VC) and Laxmi Nandan Vyas(LNV) are childhood friends from same village.
LNV wife saraswati committed suicide by drowning in village pond(why its not shown yet)
LNV was supposed to marry VC elder sister Dukhbaa but on wedding day married Guman a nautanki(dancer). LNV's father threw him out of house.
VC gave him money by taking loan on his haveli to go to Dubai. LNV became very rich. Saraswati chandra(SC or saras) is LNV and saraswati's son and danny is Guman and LNV son. LNV fixed Saras wedding with VC daughter Kumud Sundari(KS) without asking Saras and announced in a party in dubai. Saras tells dad he cannot marry but LNV says its an order. SC has no good relation with LNV. Sunny, SC friend advices him to write a letter to KS saying he rejects marriage proposal to her. SC writes letter but KS hides from father. Only her mom Guniyal and Kusum her sister know of letter.
LNV arranges Video con for KS and SC where KS challenges him to come to ratnagiri and reject her in front of parents. SC goes to ratnagiri but VC is caught in factory fire and SC rescues him. KS requests Sc not to tell rejection of marriage to VC till he gets well. They play kite festival etc.
LNV meanwhile tells Guman he has opened business for Kumud in her name in dubai and its not running well and hence Guman says she will run it. LNV has also brought the loaned house of VC in his name only and gives it to Guman. Guman takes loan in VC haveli name and ruins business in Kumud name.
Few days pass, SC gets tensed and decides to leave VC house and leaves early morning. KS hides and sees him going.
On the way SC sees Yash(Kumud's elder cousin brother, VC elder bro son) driving car drunk and hitting cow of a lady. Cow(Chamuri) dies and lady(illaben) breaks her hand. All villagers and pandit come to VC house demaning justice. VC calls Yash out of house and Yash tries to swear falsely on his mom(mota bhabhi) that he was not in car. But saras stops him and takes blame himself. Sc is pushed and hit and told to make prayaschit-pots and sell in market and eat one time food and sleep outside near illaben village till he does not make enough money to buy another cow for her. Kumud helps him as she knows he never drive the car.
After 2-3 weeks illablen comes to know yash did it and not saras when he confesses the same to KS in school. She takes a cow from him and VC goes back home. Guman calls police and tells SC did agu hatya arrest him. Saras is arrested and put in jail. Guman comes to indai with her sis and threatens that she will tell LNV about saras arrest. KS catches Yash and puts him in jail and brings saras out.
Guman says keep a party to announce saras-ks wedding and on that day tells VC that saras rejected kumud. VC humiliated as he has to cancel party for villagers. Guman tells kumud knew and hid. Hence VC shouts at KS and Guniyal for betrayal.
