1. Nice romantic moments, Saras sees her face , the hand holding was cute

2. Kumudsundari dares him to go into the lake to get her kite, not realizing that it Is the same lake where his mother had committed suicide

3. Saras tormented by old memories, is about to drown when Dukhba saves him

4. Saras is angry with kumudsundari for taunting him

5. Dukhba scolds kumudsundari and makes her realize the gravity of her prank against Saras

Chanku chemistry - 7/10

Acting quotient - Jen - 6/10 - her expressions when she finds out about the history of the lake were inadequate, she did not look shocked enough to me

Curiosity quotient - 6/10 - will Saras forgive kumudsundari ?

Dialogue of the day - patang Kati hai par kisi ke hath na lagne doongi

1. What's with all the mothers committing suicide?

I know lots of courageous women locked in loveless marriages, who draw their strength from their children.

To glorify suicide as the way out of problems is unethical.

It is the last resort of a desperate person, yet our serials do not take it seriously.

I do not think in the original novel his mother committed suicide, this was one adaptation I strongly

dislike, no not just dislike , condemn.

For this very reason I will give the overall epi a rating of 5/10

2. I also did not like kumudsundari today, she was so consumed in her own pride that she taunted him

needlessly

3. So tomorrow he slams the door in her face, I know someone else who did that a lot and I love him

dammit!

OMG
Here ppl don't want SLB to adopt the novel and u r saying dat it isnt a COMPLETE COPY so u condemn it?
M sorry i disagree wid dis
For SC, i luk @ it as a normal serial widout thinking abt wat the novel is/was...
I dont care
Acting and chemistry rocked, Jenam rocked, direction and cinematography rocked, dialogues rocked, BAS!
If mothers are commiting suicide, why cnt u also see dat the heroine here is more egoistic and she flies the kite?
and the story requirement is dat, so wat cn we do about it!
At one part, it's not kumud's fault...Did she knew abt it? NO, den?
yes but her acts made me angry but she is lyk dat, we need to accept it!
And about Jennifer's expressions on knowing abt saras's past, she was more guilty dan shocked
b4 she cn get astonished, she started feeling guilty and i luvd it!
completely my views😊

I condemn putting in suicide to justify his anguish, we trivialize and glorify suicide and I don't like that

And I felt Jen needed to be more expressive, in the scene when she finds about his mother.

I think while there are mothers who remain strong , its also a fact that there are some women who cannot deal with deep unhappiness. Speaking from personal experience I had an aunt who committed suicide even though she had a little child to look after. Depression or unhappiness are things that we dont always have control over . While I dont agree with suicide being a way out- this shows why Saras is the way he is and what has tormented him subconciously all these years. Kumud has a lot to apologise for. After all what did he do- just say no to marriage .but of course the fact that she did not know the truth goes in her favour.
now before I ramble on any longer I better stop😳

About the expression thing, Kumud was more or less in a state of shock, she din't know how to react, ya the guilt probably.

Yes, depression is a serious issue and needs sensitive portrayal. That is why I feel strongly about showing suicide so often and so easily in serials. It is always shown as the easy way out of troubles and I would like our film makers to not do that, hence the outburst.

And kumudsundari she was childish and mean to him!

I think you tend to compare everything with IPKKND. Well Saras's mother did commit suicide in the original novel and showing it in the show is by no means glorifying it. That incident is pivotal in Saras's life and to a large extent the reason for him turning out to be the man he is today. Regarding the rest, I think the episode was fantastic. The thing I appreciate the most is that the leads do not have the cliched romantic moments like all other daily soaps we watch these days, yet the moments are very romantic and such a pleasure to watch.

You are right about the IPKKND bias, trying hard to get over it. 😊

I did try to read up on how his mother died in the original novel and did not find any reference to suicide. Wiki does not talk about his moms death having been suicide.

Hence I assumed that it was an adaptation.

If it happened in the original novel, then ok, but if it is an adaptation, then I don't like it.

Yes their romance is quite nice, that is coming up really well.
