I too think he will ask for her hand to her father - his kaka!! Kumud will get really angry and misunderstand perhaps he wants her to reject him so he has changed his decision!!! SO now Kumud may reject him saying that he had first rejected her and now was saying yes! He returns back to Dubai heartbroken!!! And when her parents put sense into Kumud - she agrees to marry Saras but by then his stepmother will make sure that this alliance is permanently broken!! And SLB may show Kumud getting engaged to another guy - and heading to marriage - with Saras in her heart. On the day of the wedding Saras lands up there - and for some reason the groom gets killed/dies - - then Saras marries her - but they have to face a lot of hardships and discover true love!

I thought he meant that he didnt apologies for the refusal..that was the mistake (galti) . He had mentioned it to his "man Friday" in Dubai that the letter didnt mention that he was profoundly sorry for the refusal... The refusal is based on some "other" reason ( that we do not know yet)... It is NOT because of Kumud.
