I was thinking the exact same thing all this time and that's what has me convinced that there will be a happy ending hopefully. But with the pace of the show I don't know what he has in store for the future because it seems like something new happens every week and no track will drag so that is the Wonderful thing about this show. So if something bad happens it won't last nearly as long as in shows like PR.
