It is not power that corrupts but fear. Fear of losing power corrupts those who wield it and fear of the scourge of power corrupts those who are subject to it. It would be difficult to dispel ignorance unless there is freedom to pursue the truth unfettered by fear. Daw Aung San Su Kyi, Freedom from Fear (essay/speech), 1991.
Strictly speaking Bhopal is not a part of Bundelkhand - but we SKBM (ex)-phankas will let such geographical anomalies slide - after all, what is a latitude/longitude here or there when more pressingly, Prince Lamba Achamba is soon to be confronted by his nouveau nemesis: the Pachmarhi warrior princess.
In the hospital hallway, in front of a Mahadev shrine, a worried Sumitra confronts Arti about Puja's phone bills and asks if she intended to revolt. There is some march past bg music at this juncture. She had seen Arti arguing with the cop, Rangoli and daddaji. She is certain that Arti has also met with BBP. Arti responds that the culprits behind Puja's attack must be brought to justice. Sumitra asks that in her pursuit of justice, she not destroy her parents - they were on the brink of losing one daughter and could not afford to lose the other to a crusade for justice. It was best that people like them left such things to God. Arti asks if they were not meant to fight, why had the divine given them anger and indignation. They were in pain, it was the blood of Sumitra's daughter and Arti's sister that had been spilt. Sumitra asks her to go forth and shoot down all whom she thought were in the wrong, but after killing her parents. Even though Arti tries to protest, Sumitra assertively forbids her to go any further in her crusade for justice. Sumitra says that Puja's reputation would be tarnished and her father would be destroyed. However, Harivansh who has wandered back into the hallway overhears this conversation.
In the haveli, BP asks how "Puja Tiwari's" case should be finished. Daddaji says that this was a party decision and had to do with the election strategy. BBP advises that they had indeed made Puja Tiwari a part of their campaign but any action that took would have to be carefully vetted and timed. If they did not time things carefully, they risked leaving things either uncooked or burnt and then having to walk a tightrope. During the conversation, BBP keeps glancing at Rangoli and Giridhar. Daddaji announces to his august family gathering (is ammaji history?) that in the interests of the party, Puja's assailants would be apprehended - their testimony in court would be critical to laying matters to rest - there was to be no further debate on the issue.
At the hospital, Harivansh says that despite staying under the same roof with Puja, they had never gauged what she was going through and they let go of her hand at the critical moment. Dramatically he goes towards the Mahadev shrine. We have the usual BG music with temple bells and conch shells. Harivansh applies a tikka on Arti, anointing Pachmarhi's warrior princess. He blesses her and promises to be with her through this struggle - always trust a Tiwari to wake up only after the waterlevel starts drowning them. He and Sumitra head away from the shrine and Arti prays at the shrine for the strength to crusade for justice and truth.
At the hospital, a concerned Sumitra asks Harivansh why he was encouraging Arti, he was knowingly pushing his other daughter into danger. She was alone and could lose. Harivansh replies that if he did not let Arti crusade, he would never be able to face himself. A ray of light could only be seen in the dark. Winning and losing were irrelevant, what was more important was the fight. They look at Puja through the port in the ICU. Harivansh tells Sumitra that they were not lifeless bodies and to prove that, they would fight. Puja had a family and it would protest. It was more importanat that they voiced their outrage. Even of they were not heard, the protest would echo in their own ears. He reminisces about Puja falling during her childhood - he would beat up the floor that had caused her pain to pacify her. Today it was just as important that her family did something.
At the party office, BBP is thoughtful; he has Giridhar and Rangoli adorning other couches. Rangoli slyly asks if BBP is unhappy with Daddaji's decision. BBP denies this saying that neither he nor daddaji could make each other unhappy. Girdhar says that Daddaji had the decided to hand over Puja's assailants to keeping in mind their electorate. And Daddaji's was experienced at knowing the pulse of the people. BBP responds that is why he would like to think it over till Daddaji returned from his tour. As he gets up to leave, Rangoli says that it would be a few days before Daddaji returned and they had instructions to manage this in his business. Gridhar says that given the number of media outlets, it was only a matter of time before a small spark of news could become a raging fire and could tilt the balance of power. Hence, Giridhar thinks that they should act immediately on the Puja Tiwari and finish it off. BBP responds that it was already being handled, a reward had already been announced but they would have to solve the matter of catching the assailants carefully. BBP gets a call from Daddaji who asks him to switch on one of the channels. On the Daily Sansani, the news reporter is speculating about what might be the reason that BBP is taking such a keen interest in Puja's shooting. The city saw murders and thefts everyday, but what could be the reason that he was taking a special interest in Puja's case? Giridhar sarcastically has a "I told you so" moment. Rangoli looks at BBP who looks a bit worried.
At a police station Govind Shankar and constable discuss the Diary. The constable says that the contents of the diary are explosive and could be huge risk. GS says that he is not satisfied with what they had got for covering up at the love nest. He would make BBP cough up more; the diary was a key to a goldmine that they would have to use shrewdly. The constable says that GS was inviting death but GS is confident that the diary would be his crutch and savior.
Meanwhile at the hospital, Arti is watching the Daily Sansani with Bhavna and Krishna. The news reporter continues to speculate about Puja and Brij. It was common knowledge that BBP had encouraged Puja's career even though BBP denied knowing Puja personally. Though police said the shooting was the result of a robbery gone bad, Arti Tiwari claimed otherwise. Watching this Arti gets agitated and accuses BBP of lying. Krish and Bhavana are also disturbed by the news. They wonder if there was any proof of a Brija wedding, the temple, eyewitnesses or a photograph. Arti says no but there was something else, though she did not ever think that BBP could sink so low. Arti takes Bhavana to the side and asks her if she or her family knows of a doctor at the hospital who could help her very discreetly.

Precap: Krish and Arti ask a man who is working on a bike if he had seen anything at the bungalow (they must be in front of the love nest) on the day of the shooting. Before he can respond, a small boy says he had seen two scary looking men and when they were getting on to their bike, he had seen a gun on one of them.
