"This is my wife ... she is mad! ...violent lunacy. I wasn't told about that - until the wedding was cleverly done. Everyone got what they wanted, but I have spent the last fifteen years in torment! And this is what I wished to have - this young girl who stands so grave and quiet at the mouth of hell. Look at the difference. Then judge me" - Mr. Rochester in Jane Eyre, C. Bronte
This episode was definitely better than yesterdays'.
At Daddaji's haveli, at a breakfast table, a small Bundelkhandi political ruckus is giving everyone the beginnings of an ulcer. BBP and Daddaji continue to berate Giridhar (GD). BBP says he is dismayed at the lack of trust shown by GD. He wishes that GD had consulted a party senior member before taking such a rash step. If GD had won the byelection, BBP (when he became CM) intended to give him the home minister's portfolio. If GD had lost, BBP would nevertheless have sent him to Delhi as a nominated member of the Rajya Sabha. Daddaji chimes in asking why GD didn't bother consulting him if he did not trust BBP - GD looks immature and unreliable. Now, since it was publicly announced there was no going back. Giridhar has the grace to look foolish and silently rues his decision; GD's wife looks disconcerted, ammaji looks irate. Though Rangoli Dubey-Pandey (RDP) continues to silently smirk, she becomes thoughtful and you see her breakfast "tell": she picks up a knife to massage. At this juncture, if you let your eye wander about the breakfast tableau, you notice that our SKBM CVs have taken great care to color coordinate the table napkins and placemats with her blouse.
After breakfast, RDP goes back to her boudoir and in her clenched jaw manner wonders aloud what BBPs plans for GD actually are. She then calls Mritun and inquires about the status of the kidnapping. He assures her it is done but Mritun is also worried about BBP's reaction and backlash. Haughtily RDP tells him she would take care of BBP.
At mammaji's house, the living room, Harivansh and Sumitra are leaving for Pachmarhi. Both their daughters are staying behind. Aarti has hired some help for Sumitra in Pachmarhi through Billoo. Aarti thinks that Pooja needs her (though the little one tries to protest) more than Sumitra; the senior Tiwaris and mamma-mammi think Aarti needs a change after the Siddarth fiasco. As Aarti bids her parents farewell, she has an uneasy feeling in the pit of her stomach.
After the senior Tiwaris leave, Pooja rings up BBP, thanking him for persuading her parents to let her stay on in Bhopal. She then reminds him that he promised to show her his house. Looks like a lot has been happening between Brija while we have been subjected to RDP nightmares. BBP tells her to get ready and that he would pick her up.
In their little cousin's bedroom, Arti looks on (a bit uneasily) as Pooja decks up using lipstick and even the expensive chain. She comments at how the little sister has now started to wear makeup. For any of us who have had to spread our wings and find independence from claustrophobic protective families - we will definitely cringe and empathize with Pooja. Pooja reassures her sister lying effortlessly that she has to go to rehearsal and hence all the preparation. Arti asks to be dropped off at new market.
As the sisters head to the door in mammaji's living room and are about to step out, Krish turns up with a bouquet for Pooja. Pooja (a bit put off) introduces Krish to Aarti (confused but polite). Arti (in classic small town mehman navazi) invites Krish in to hobnob for a brief bit. During the short conversation, Krish expresses concern for Sumitra and then finds out that Aarti has a show in Gwalior and is headed out for a rehearsal for the same. He congratulates her and then offers to drop the two sisters off.
Brija open the door to a small house in Bhopal (overlooking the Taj Masjid); as they step inside hand in hand, we get the sensation that this is the house in which Pooja might have been shot though the decor is very different. BBP looks on longingly (not lustfully) at Pooja as she looks around. BBP gives her a set of keys and tells her that this is her house and says that though it is small, it is enough to enable their dreams.
Precap: The Daily Sansani (though we have had our share of news in the scene about Brija's abode)...There is more breaking news - 5 girls linked to BBP have been kidnapped followed by some brief footage of BBP's shocked face, the kidnapping precap from yesterday and a worried Daadaji on the phone.
Wonder if this will mean that there will be a negative publicity backlash for BBP? After yesterday, this episode was such a relief...some music is back, but they still need to work on editing, transitions and the BG music...Thank goodness Rangoli was quiet for the most part...
Come on readers, you have to press like today...
cheers, durum
