Continuing from yesterday, Arti, Harivansh and Sumitra are hugging on the couch while Mama and Mami are looking on. Pooja wipes her tears and tells Arti that they should go get some ice cream to get their mind off things. Arti protests but Harivansh and Sumitra make her go.
After their departure Sumitra sadly wonders about all the talk they will have to face in Panchmarhi when news gets out about Arti's broken marriage. Harivansh tells Sumitra not to worry because it's their personal matter and nobody needs to know anything. He tells her to concentrate on her health and Mama backs him up.
Mami waits until they've left and then complains about the Tiwaris attitude - she can't believe they're eating ice cream when Arti's relation is broken. Mama says his sister and brother in law aren't the kind of people who think of their daughters as a burden. They're simply relieved that their daughter's life isn't spoiled by a wrong marriage. Mami looks unconvinced by these progressive ideas.
In the haveli Brij is talking to Shukla on the phone and asks if all the newspapers are on board. Shukla reassures him but says one journalist is still holding out. Brij guesses this to be one Anurag Seshadri who has a habit of being inconvenient in his reporting. Shukla offers to handle it but Brij says now is not the time and hangs up the phone, looking around furtively.
(I guess Anurag will be the one who helps Arti when Pooja is shot and this will be Arti's lead?)
He has good reason because Rangoli is now in full master spy mode, đ lurking behind a pillar and listening in on his conversations. She wonders what is going on.
Pooja buys Arti ice cream and casually pays the guy Rs. 100 (I love how SKBM uses these small details to illustrate how far Pooja has come and the change in her relationships. That would have been a big amount for her once upon a time and Arti was the earning member between them). Arti looks sad and when Pooja asks why, she says Siddharth loved this ice cream.
Pooja brushes it off and tries to tell her about her relationship with Brij. But Arti mistakes her and thinks she's worried about telling Brij about what happened with Siddharth. She says she's sure Brij must have already begun to help Siddharth but Pooja should tell him of everything that happened that very day and there's no use hiding the truth when it's all going to come out sooner or later.
Pooja fumbles about a bit more, trying to say what she really wanted, but decides to wait for another day.
Rangoli is now waiting for her henchman Mrityunjay who apparently only lives to serve her. She seems a lot more casual about it. đ M says he's already been hard at work for her, visiting every newspaper office to make sure she makes the front page the next day. Rangoli is happy with that but she really wants to know what Brij is up to these days. M promises to find out.
The next day the newspaper arrives at Mama's home with the front page plastered with a pic of Brij and Rangoli at the press conference. The caption reads Rangoli Pandey with her husband Brijbhushan Pandey. đ Mama asks Pooja to bring it to him but before she can pick it up, Arti does so. Mama is about to read it when Harivansh comes out to say he's taking Sumitra to the hospital to remove her stitches and ask when they can return to Panchmarhi.
Mama immediately puts down the newspaper and says he will go too. Pooja goes to help her mother get dressed, Arti goes to get breakfast, Harivansh goes to get ready and Mama is about to do the same when Mami comes and complains about the clutter and puts the newspaper away. The pic with Rangoli and Brij is on top and clearly visible through the glass top of the coffee table.
Pooja comes out to ask for some newspaper to wrap up Sumitra's shoes and Mama and Mami tell her to help herself from the coffee table. The camera focuses on Pooja's frowning face from the angle of the pic under the table.
At the haveli, Daddaji is delighted to see the pic and immediately shows it to Rangoli. She's happy as she thinks Brij must have seen the pic too by now. He says his picture is also in the paper but he's a lot more happy to see his daughter and son in law in there. Rangoli praises the way she looks in the pic but says Brij looks like a senior post office clerk. 𤣠She says its been 7 years since their marriage but he still doesn't know how to smile or have any style.
Daddaji tells her that she should teach Brij both if she cares so much about it. Rangoli is pleased by this idea and calls for some poor servant to throw Brij's clothes away. D says he's happy to see her take an interest in her husband's affairs and says its the duty of a wife to match her husband step for step. Rangoli and he coo at each other some more 𤢠but he looks worried when she's gone. (Because she's more of a psycho than even he is!)
Brij is now yelling at Shukla for not doing his job properly - he's upset about the pic in the newspaper. (And he needs a shave) Shukla explains about M bribing the journalists to publish the pic and wonders if this means that Rangoli knows about Pooja and Brij.
Brij is irritated by M showing up out of nowhere and says if Rangoli knew about Pooja, it would have been Pooja's pic in the newspaper under the missing column. đ˛ Rangoli would order a hit on Pooja the moment she found out. Shukla agrees. Brij says he's more worried right now about Pooja finding out about Rangoli being his wife. He calls Pooja repeatedly but her phone is lying on top of her purse and she doesn't pick up. He sits in his office worried.
Precap: Brij is getting measured by the tailor and Pooja keeps trying to call his phone but he cancels it because Rangoli is standing right next to him. Rangoli is suspicious. Later, she's standing in front of a projector screen that shows Brij flanked by Pooja and another girl. Rangoli wonders if Brij's disinterest in her is because of another woman and she flicks a lighter in psycho fashion, promising to burn any woman who thinks she can take Rangoli's place.
OMG. So many things today. First, it appears his staff or Shukla and Shamsher anyway, know that Brij is in love with Pooja and is hiding his marital status from her. Which I already guessed because they'd have to be incredibly stupid if they didnt but the confirmation was kind of đ˛. It's all so shady.
I know we're all Brija fans but Brija are really only sweet when they're together. Whenever either one of them is otherwise thinking of the other on their own, especially Brij, it all seems very seedy and horrible. Pooja is lying and going against her sanskaar by the day for her important secret lover, Brij is lying all over the place and taking enormous risks even with Pooja's life so he can have a little taste of the love he craves.
If Pooja doesn't find out soon, I foresee a shift to Mumbai very soon in her future so that Brij can keep her out of Rangoli's clutches. I can't wait for Gwalior!
