It starts out with.. in the beginning of the show, Gunjan and Mayank would often fight, with nok-jok etc. which led to eventually Mayank falling for Gunjan. But all this while.. Gunjan was kinda oblivious to it all. But during this time.. Charu's proposal for Mayank was brought forth, by Sangeeta. Mayank's mom is money greedy type, so since Charu is from a rich fam, it was easy to cajole her to agreeing to the marriage. Charu and Mayank didn't know each other.

Mayank never wanted to get married to Charu, but to make Gunjan jealous and to make her realize her feelings for him he accepted the proposal. Eventually, Gunjan realized her feelings for him, but him being a coward, did not know, how to tell his fam, that he does not want to marry Charu.. things went so far, that he even got engaged to Charu! But kept promising Gunjan, that he'll talk to his fam abt it etc etc.

Charu on the other hand, was being ignored by Mayank and she realized that he likes Gunjan and not her. Despite knowing Mayank does not love her, she was still adamant about getting married to him, and had promised to herself that she is going to make life hell for him and everyone in his fam, once she is married. (she kept her word).

As days kept passing, it was becoming diff. for Mayank to tell his fam that he wants to back out from this marriage.. even if he was wanting to (he basically was being a coward), Gunjan realized that things were going out of their hands, so she tried to keep a distance from Mayank and told him to marry Charu only, as she can't allow him to let either of the families down.

Charu on the other hand, kept doing her tricks to make sure things stay according to her plan, while she was being rude to Dholu (who isn't shown on there, as much he is Sangeeta's son), this was just to show, she was plain bad.

Eventually, everyone gets to know towards the end of all drama, that Mayank does not love Charu and only Gunjan and wants to marry her only! So Mayank's and Gunjan's marriage was finally decided and was on the cards.

But Mayank's mom, along with others in the house (except for Shail and Rachana) disliked Gunjan from the beginning for her outspoken attitude which they considered disrespectful, and initially she was rude and stubborn..and too modern thus, Mayank's mom completely disliked her.. and didnt see her 'fit' for a bahu.

Charu took advantage of this, and kept filling her ears against Gunjan, saying how she is going to take Mayank away from her etc etc. and his mom being naive, tried to fill Mayank's ears against Gunjan, and him being a mama's boy, started to believe his mom and thus, rifts were created between the couple. He ends up insulting Gunjan in front of all, on their engagement day, and both decides to break things off. Mayank says things like, Charu is better than her etc etc and he'll listen to his mom and marry her only. The day of wedding, Gunjan understood, who was behind the MU, turns out both Sangeeta and his mom were responsible for creating the rift. She records everything and just before wedding ceremony she brings it front of everyone and shows the video. All are furious and Mayank realizing his mistake, decides to marry Gunjan only. but after the ceremony, realizes its Charu. He is crushed. Gunjan, being self-respecting.. tells him that its better he married Charu only, as my not believing Gunjan, he proved to her, how weak his trust is on Gunjan. No relationship can sustain that doesn't have trust. Sangeeta and his mom are happy.

Then, as show progresses, we see how scheming Charu is towards Mayank and his fam. She was rude to his mom, but sweet on her face.. wld make her work by saying sweet words, instead of her working.. she wld give excuses.. his mom was sweet to her, and was being understanding.. so she did the work instead. Mayank still loved Gunjan and Gunjan too loved him.. but they cldnt be with each other..Gunjan wld avoid him, even if her eyes showed love for him. Charu was neglected, so she tried alll means to get Mayank to be with her.. tried many times to have husband-wife relationship with him.. but he'd refuse. that made her more and more mad.

She decided to make Gunjan's life miserable, as because of her Mayank was avoiding her. She said, (in her head), because of you, he isn't giving me attention, I too will make sure you dont live in peace. She started to create rift between Rachana and Gunjan, by developing misunderstanding, and kept doing things which made Gunjan look bad in front of Rachana. This track went on for quite some time... like months! Things went out of hands, during Holi. Where she dressed up as Gunjan, and had broken glass mixed with holi in her hands, and was about to smear Rachana's face with that. Gunjan was tied up by her. Dholu came to the rescue when he realized what was happening (he often played crucial role in saving situations for Gunjan), and he saw Gunjan tied up, while in the holi field, someone 'dressed as her' he managed to free Gunjan, and Gunjan ran to save Rachana.. and thus Charu was exposed. Her parents were in shock and everyone was too! Basically, she got soo blind in her revenge and she didnt think twice about harming Rachana or making her the scapegoat.

This awakened Sangeeta and Mayank's mom and they realized how evil Charu really is.. and Charu too had blackmailed Sangeeta, when she had realized how bad she is and had refused to side with her. but all her doings were out that time! and all saw her for how she actually is!

Mayank then got divorced from her and she was even sent to jail! Then Mayank finally marries Gunjan... and after many heroic efforts of Gunjan's social causes, eventually people in the town started to like her and commend her, which made Mayank's mom's opinion change about her and finally.. she started accepting Gunjan and appreciating her and treating her like her daughter.

After months of this happening.. Charu is again, brought back. This time, ,she comes back in the disguise, of Shail's nephew's "to-be-wife". she remains in the house, under a veil refusing to take it off, saying she made a vow to not, till she is "married" to Shail's nephew. Here, she blackmails, and tricks Mayank asking him to spend a night with her..before she gets married. She had no desire to marry the nephew.. just wanted Mayank to sleep with her once..but said, if he didnt she wldnt marry the nephew, and this wld lead to more trouble. (this is a long story).. the nephew wld have seizure when stressed or if anyone said anything bad to his 'bride', and was obsessed with the fake personality Charu displayed herself to be. and was in love with her, and cldnt bare anyone saying anything bad to her.

When gunjan figured out her to be Charu, Rachana and Gunjan planned to expose her. Which they do, but the nephew refused to believe and wld get hyper.

But eventually, this truth was also out and Charu was ridiculed in front of EVERYONE.. this was the day when Charu was supposed to marry the nephew. Charu was waiting in the room for Mayank, and asked him to come dressed as a groom and sleep with her before she her marriage to the nephew. Here, when "Mayank" comes in room face covered with groom flowers Charu thinks it is him and hugs him saying "Mayank ji, lets be one" and then.. hugs, and then she is brought to the realization that, it is none other than the nephew! and then she is exposed!

She is kicked out of the house then, but she avenges the insult saying, she is going to return..

And then.. after a few months of that, again.. SHE IS BACK!

NOW tell me.. this kind of a character.. always being brought back.. shamelessly by the CVs.. is it right?

Her part is getting sooo old! Mayank keeps rejecting her..she keeps on plotting to be back in his life.. by hook or crook! sad, really.. sigh.

Some people.. i tell you.. have no shame.. even when she knows, he is married!! SMH.
