Not giving up on love
Roopal Tyagi is a romantic at heart and professional at work. Despite the emotional upheaval in her life, mainly her recent break-ups, the actress has not given up on true love or the pursuit of it. Roopal parted ways with her long-term boyfriend Akhlaque Khan before she started seeing her Sapna Suhane Ladakpan Ke co-star Ankit Gera. Soon the two split due to alleged cheating on Gera's part, she tells us. There were also rumours that Roopal would quit the show to avoid bumping into her ex, but the actress vehemently denies it. In fact, she has been doing romantic scenes with Gera as well, while making her dislike for him rather evident.
"I am not quitting the show. The audience loves the character of Gunjan (played by me), and so do I," she says putting the rumours to rest.
Speaking about the split she says, "I did feel very cheated and it was a terrible feeling. It bogged me down completely, but I am getting over it. I want to bring the focus back on my career at the moment."
The actress further stresses that she has not lost faith in the idea of love. "When true love strikes, everything goes right. If things are going wrong, it is for a reason " because it is not true love and hence, not meant to be. Love for me is life. I am too young to give up on love," she says.
Sharing her idea of a perfect romance she reveals, "Romance should be pure and passionate " it's making each other feel complete and spending special time together. A show off and a man who doesn't talk sensible stuff is a complete turn off. I appreciate an intelligent man who talks sense and is humble." While on the topic, Roopal has a few suggestions for young girls who have just been through a bitter breakup. "Time heals all wounds. Stop focusing on the heartbreak and be surrounded by friends and family. If one has the right support system to fall back on, one can get over the debacle sooner," she believes.
On another note, Roopal has an uncanny resemblance with Preity Zinta and is often compared with the Bollywood actress. Speaking about the compliments that come her way she says, "She is a very beautiful and intelligent actress, I really like her so I like being compared to her."
Like Preity, Roopal too enjoys dancing and at one point was a choreographer herself. "My family has been very supportive of me. They knew I am crazy about dancing and acting, so they encouraged me to go follow my dreams. From Bangalore to Mumbai, the journey has been fantastic. I used to be an assistant choreographer to Pony Verma (Dirty Picture choreographer) and then got into acting. I will soon be doing a South film soon," reveals Roopal.
When she does find some free time from her shoot, the actress says she loves exploring the city. "I go to the new hotspots opened in Mumbai and explore world cuisine. I love watching films, but these days I am quite busy so I rarely get the time."
