Being a Rachna fan, I never thought too much about Roopal. But I never hated her. Her tweet regarding Mahima made me think from her angle for the first time. Yes, she seems to have a good year, dominated the screen, seems to have a nice time with the lead of the show. But how much has she really gained in the personal and career front?
When the show began, both the girls had their own set of fans. Flamboyant Gunjan attracted many young girls, they identified themselves with her. They stood behind her solidly, when she refused to marry Mayank. They fought with RajNa fans to make GunJeev happen. But along with Rachna, Gunjan's character was also dealt horribly. The girl who had opposed Mayank when he suggested to run away, suddenly changed over night. Her fans could not recognise the girl, who ran from the house to meet her lover who is divorced. Rachna lost Rajeev but retained her fans. Gunjan got Mayank, lost most of her fans.
I heard, she had refused a regional movie offer to stay in SSLK. She could have demanded more screen space then. Fight for more screen space is not uncommon. It happens in most of the serials (or movies) with more than one lead pair. But she had no control over the kind of tracks that would be written. So Rachna got less screen space with interesting tracks. Gunjan got enough time with all crappy tracks.
In personal life, she was steady in a relation. Even had plans to participate in Jhalak. Looks like, she had got entangled by a two timer now.
