Nice post Rupa..

Agree with most of you

Shail is a brilliant Massi..And most of the times she is just like Gunjans own mom.. But When it comes to Rachna and Gunjan obviously its Rachna and I am sure even Gunjan dont expect her to treat them equally ..But Shail tried her best to treat her like her own daughter..

When have some doubts between any of the characters in indian serials they dont discuss it and let the matter get worsen, at the climax only you can see they understood what had happened .. Same will happen in this as well .. (really sad though)

A mother feels your pain as well when you hurt her. Even a father cant become a mother so a masi definately cant!! Mother is not necessarily devki she can be a yashoda.

Here shayl is with gunjan for less than a year while rachna for 16, that should make a difference but did it?? NO. Shayl did see 'gunjan' mixing the bhaang but she does not question her because she still trusts her heart more than eyes.. other times she trusted her heart when she was blindfolded, She continued to trust Gunjan even when she broke her own daughter s heart and self confidence and 'image in society'. Shayl loves Gunjan selfless she cares for her more than she worries about Pihu her first born... Not once does she miss her eldest but gunjan is more than that she is her sisters s akhri nishani..

Practically it is impossible to love another child like your own,but this is a show

At the engagement day she was really mad with Gunjan and she didnt even bother ablut her but she was with Rachna ..Where Rachna was needed her the most .. The day after only she bothered to check how Gunjan is as she is her responsibility .. She clearly said that .. Later she notices that Gunjan is hiding something from them as she saw Gunjans behaviour is not normal..

Unfortunately Gunjan was the one of the victim of the Vihans plan and even if she didnt Vihan would broke Rachnas's heart and self confidence and 'image in society'.

And I think Sails love for Gunjan is not selfless but selfish..She can see Sneha in Gunjan and despite of how difficult Gunjan to live in the house she still keeps her inside ..

^^ see what i mean by that is vihaan would have broken all the three himself but the stigma doubled because of gunjan. Rachna was not only the jilted bride but she was the girl whose fiancee chose her over her sister. There were two blows not just one. A girl can still accept a man does not like her but if he announces he wants her sister is another story. See shayl slapped gunjan that day because it was similar to what gunjan s mom did and she is still affected by it remember the truth and dare game ... So a twenty year old wound was what shook her then not gunjan s actions. Slowly the pain ebbed and clarity was back.hope I made sense.

I agree with everyone's POV on this topic.
My opinion is that Shail does love Gunjan alot but more so because she is Sneha's daughter and she promised Sneha to look after her. In reality, Gunjan would have been sent to her father after the wedding fiasco and if not, then definitely after Mayank's attempted suicide.

Shail does try her level best to treat both girls equally but after Rachna's engagement was broken, the words spoken by Shail was definitely harsh. I know that she was hurt by her own personal experience but some of her comments went just a bit too far. For me, that was when I would say that she proved an aunt is just an aunt and cannot be a mother.

Now Charu has influenced the circumstances such that Shail saw "Gunjan" stirring the milkshake. From Shail's lack of comments to Gunjan, it is clear that she has a doubt on Gunjan. She should just come right out and ask Gunjan but as this is a show after all, she won't and I am sure Gunjan will need to prove herself yet again.

I think, Shayl would have slapped Gunjan for spoiling Rachna's engagement, even if she happen to be her own daughter, due to circumstances. On reel, Shayl really manages well to balance between the two warring sisters, though she is a maasi to one of them. In real, it is tough to manage between the two, even if both happen to be your own children. We often ended up complaining our mom/dad were partial to our brother or sister. Our children do the same. There is nothing called as striking a perfect balance.

A real mother looks out for the well being of her daughter.
Everyone can see that the Garg household is not the best situation for Gunjan. It's not her home and most of the family clearly shows their preference for Rachna. It has the potential to scar Gunjan for life. If Shayl truly loved Gunjan, she would send her to her father - not keep her in benaras. Also never has Shayl discussed with Gunjan - how she can help ease the situation.
Gunjan has no one to speak to - self serving stupid Rachna is on the warpath to destroy Gunjan, Charu is stirring up more trouble by the day bcos Rachna is an easy target, Chaaya is Rachna's friend, Rajiv does not want to speak abt personal stuff, Mayank cannot reach out - can you imagin how lonely a 18 yr old can get in this situation.
If Shayl truly loved Gunjan she would ask her to go to her Dad or get a hostel room in Benaras.

I know dear... Thats the stupidest thing she has done , but with good intention ... putting her own self at a stake.. sad that she didnt use her brain ..

And Shail didnt support her nor trust her..but devastated ... she was there with Rachna.. until she felt that Gunjan is hiding is something..

By the way Viba was Shail in love with Akash? what has happened? I cant remember exactly what sneha said her in very first few episodes ..

Well said.. I am sure if it was Rachna she would have slapped her too ..

But she was repent for the mistake she took her to banaras and she was regreting it though she said it out or not.. If it was Rachna she would worry about her too .. and would never think about WHy I gave a birth to this child...

We have heard many such dialogues in Hindi movies where a real mom tells her nalayak beta, "Tum paida ho te hi, mar kyon nahi gaye?". We can't count the words that one says when they have lost sense.
But the actions they take when they have sense, speaks about them. When Shayl came to sense, she used the word "Gunjan, hamari zimmedaari hai". So she might have love/concern towards Gunjan, but it was her responsibility towards Gunjan that dominated her search rather than love. Similarly when she saw Gunjan mixing powder; If Gunjan was her own daughter, she will question her, might show anger. But she would not hide her expression.
If you feel someone as your own, you won't try to hide the feelings in your heart. Good or bad.

Yes exactly .. She loves her a lot but still its not as the way she loves Rachna.. Gunjan is her Responsibility ..she has promised her sister ...and yes agree with ur last sentence the most
