''Rachana betti get up. It is late. You want to go to college heh?"

"Amma 5 more minutes please... amma please..." Rachana whinned."But betti It is already 9.o clock and pa is waiting for you."

"What ???????? " I sprang out from the bed as if I was BEING hit by a tornado.

"But amma where was my alarm and why you didnt call me?" That is when I got distracted by something that was laying lifeless near my bed-MY ALARM CLOCK

"S o you broke this one also rachana? This is the 5^th clock this month" asked a stern amma.

"I am sorry amma. I didn't mean to do it. I was tired after dolu's surprise b'day party and..." I stammered .

"No ands and ifs. DONE IS DONE. Clean it up before pa sees it. you know what will happen if he sees it. He already warned you know? Now get ready fast and come down .I will calm down pa" saying this she left

FREEZE

I didn't introduce my amma-Shayl Garg, mother of this choti betti-Rachana Garg. I am her ladli. After my sister Pihu's marriage , she found comfort in me. She encouraged me and helped me to get out from the screwing up of my pa by taking up the blame of what ever I did. That is my sweet ma. Without her I would be lost in this big world. being with her makes me feel like a new born baby. She pampers me, cares for me, loves me, advises me and lot more

RESUME

I knew the shoutings I am gonna get if I went down. But I should go ne?.I rushed into the wash room and did my daily morning routine. By the time I finished everything It was around 9.30.I rushed to the dining table. My pa had just finished his food. Then seeing me, pa started his daily lecteurs.

"9.30 ? Is this the time a girl of your age should get up?.One day you are going to go to some one's house. And if you do this in that house what will people say.They will only say that the parents didnt bring up their child properly?You want to hear that?Cant you get up a bit early and help amma in her household works?...and so on till.he sees amma.."heh rachana ki amma you are spoiling her. You know she have to go to someone else house? Where is the sanskaar you have taught her?"

But rachana ki papa she got up late today only ne? Otherwise she is an wakes up early neh? You also know that yesterday was dolu's party . She would have been very tired after doing everything.I was the one who didn't call her today purposely"

That is my amma .Always trying to shield me from pa's wraths.

Anyway pa didn't say anymore and left the hall.

FREEZE

This is my pa- Dayal Garg. The strict and stern pa. But he is good at heart.He is very traditional. And thinks that girls should be brought up as matured women who would become good mothers and wife in the future. One thing pa don't like is modern girls who don't care for tradition or family.But even though he is traditional he is not against girl's education.That is why I am studying in one of the best college in banaras. Even though he didn't show externally but I know that He was very sad about my sister's early marriage.That is why he gives me the best education possible.

RESUME

Anyway I am lucky to get such a good family. I am blessed. Anyway saying bye to my amma ,I left for my college.Today I have to go by myself to college. Every time I go with my Mayank bhai .But he went to lucknow with his family to attend a family wedding. So it was my first day that I am going to college alone. I don't know what is waiting for me there. I dIDnt know that it will be an extraordinary day for me'''''''..
