These TV serials are so old fashioned in their concepts,
First of all Benaras is not a small town and then it is against the law to marry girls before age 18! Rachna is 16 and they are ready to get her married,The girl has to literally beg to able to go to college!My God such backwardness in these days! God save,,,,

They are not getting her married right now.. they said they gonna wait until she is 18. But it's true Rachna's dad is so old fashioned.

Quite obvious that the producers/writers know little abt Benaras of 2012. if they wanted to have idiots like dayal, bua, future mom-in-law, crazy chachis etc. in their show, they should hve shown this crazy family living in a really, really small village or some such place. fact is, there's not ONE character except Gunjan that one can care abt.

that's why i now watch a few gunjan scenes once in a while instead of watching the complete episode on tv.

Most serials are regressive...Dayal = MCP

Who gets their daughter engaged at 16 and w/o seeing the boy? MIL keeps dropping in as if it is her home and can trespass at anytime...SHe has no right on Rachna yet...Strange Dayal allows this and Shail keeps low profile and mouth zip..

I'm finding this totally weird too!! And even tho I'm not from India, I'm pretty sure 16 year olds are still considered kids there. And portrayer of Rachna makes it look even more gross cause she barely looks 14..
