In the serial, Parul plays the character of a girl who is dark and unattractive and has to struggle all her life with the Indian society's two-faced attitude towards a woman's beauty whereas her adopted sister Sadhana is very beautiful.
Bidaai being Parul's first serial as a lead, she says, "I am very excited and I am looking forward to the awards ceremony. As I hail from Lucknow, my family and friends down there too are very happy and are wishing me good luck."
On the competition, Parul says, "Obviously it is going to be tough and every one who is nominated has done the best for their respective roles. So let's see how it goes. Even the fact that Sadhana, who is my co-actor in the serial, has been nominated in the same category of Favourite Naya Sadasya (Female) is great so either of us can win. But, on a serious note, I'm not thinking about winning. I just wish that people keep loving my work and I stick to my job of delivering the goods."
