'When I cut my hand, my aunts cried..' Did you always want to do a daily soap? I used to enjoy watching them as a kid. But the thought of working in a daily soap meant I'd have to live away from my parents.. which I didn't want to do. How did you move to Mumbai from Punjab then? Didn't your parents think beta bigad jaayega? My relatives would tell my mother that I would get spoilt with girls and drinks. But mamma knows her boy.. she motivated me to go ahead. Do your relatives react strongly to your mentally unstable character in Sapna Baabul Ka... Bidaai? Yes, some get hysterical, they keep crying that the produc- ers of the show have not been fair to me. One of my aunts went crying to mamma because I cut my hand on the show once. You have been a painter right? Whom would you like to sketch? Seema Kapoor who plays my mother in Bidaai. Ever since I saw her eyes I knew I have to sketch her some day . You were once declared Punjab's best model.. ever thought of participating in a fashion show? I started out with a cameo in Kyunki... then I went back to Punjab to finish my interi- or designing assignments. I was thinking of a fashion show but then Bidaai came my way . What's the most weird thing you've ever done? Whenever I'm sad, I play a melancholic song before I actually star crying.. just like in the movies. You had long hair once.. right? I had to chop it off for my port- folio. Why do actors' portfolio pictures look the same? One traditional wear, one with goggles and one shirtless on the beach? (Laughs) Mine aren't, I haven't even used bleach! What do you plan to buy for your mother, the next time you go to Punjab? I'll buy her diamonds. She loves diamonds. Is mamma looking for a bride for you? For quite a while now. Has she said no to an actress bahu? Not really. Oh, so we can have some- thing brewing between you and Sara Khan… Hey, have a heart.
