Anmol and Tammy walk to the washroom and come to the dinning table. Alkeh, Khushi, also join in. "Chachu aap nahi participate karengay??" questioned Tammy looking at Alkeh, "kismay Tammy mujehy kuch nahi pata ?"
Alekh replied, Khushi looked at Alekh and said "Who papa roller blade competition hai na school mai kal isliye Tammy pooch rahi hai " "Ha who Tammy humey tho nahi atti na cycling competition hota tho mai sochtha !" Alekh laughed as he replied making everyone join the chorus. Gunni who is sitting next to Anmol asks him " Chachu I am sure aap champion reh chukey kya ??" Laughing Anmol pats her head and says " Gunni champion ka tho pata nahi lekin duo saal tak mai first ayya tha , phir chod diya pratice nahi kiya and thats history!""Arrey nahi chahu isbaar tho aap hatrick marogey" came gunni's prompt reply "yes papa u will make a hatrick this time" putting her thumbs up Tammy convinced Anmol. Anmol smiled and gave his thumbs up too.Ragini was enjoying this whole father daughter conversation.
As they walked to the flight of stairs Tammy whispered in Anmol's ears and Ragini gave an inquisitive look at them and then she walked Tammy to her room, "Chalo Tammy brush karlo aur soney kayliye ready ho jaoo !", "Magar mama " she was about to say something and the baby monitor in Ragini's hand beeped and Ragini rushed to the room, while Anmol was talking to Gunni and coming up the flight of stairs. "Papa apney promise kiya tha na ki mai apkey room mai soungi dekho mama nay mana kiya " , "Achha dekthey hai chalo apni book aur Dora wali(u know di doraemon is my favourite cartoon character....I almost watched all its episode but missed the film of it 😭)pillow lekey aoo " he prompts her and she brushes her teeth quickly and gets her stuff.. " Good night chachu" gunni wishes him and walks to her room.
"Chalo Chalo Tammy " Anmol walks her to their (AR's room) where Anmol opens the door slowly without disturbing jr and is surprised to see Ragini watching jr as he had just finished nursing and kicking and playing with his hands . "Tammana tum so na nahi hai kya ?" "Tammana ko mai aaj yaha Kahani sunakey soney ko kaha hai !!" Anmol justified her coming here. Ragini a little annoyed,"aab aap hi sambaliye usko !" got up to finish with things, in the room and while Tammy set herself on the bed and gets a book and looks at Anmol who indicates her to be quite with a smile " mai abhi atta hoon watch jr" and he goes to change and comes out in a metallic gray kurta pajama.
Ragini tells the duo that she will finish off some errands in the kitchen and asks Anmol to take care, nodding his head in assurance 😆, Anmol sits next to Tammy watches jr for a while as they both keep playing with him,"papa iskey haat kitney chote hai na !! fingers small hai and so cute"noticed Tammy and Anmol smiled at her gave his finger to jr to hold, it all excitement watching them after a while jr starts getting a little restless and cries aloud. Anmol pacifies jr by picking him up and start patting him..Tammy makes her bed well and lies down with her book ready to be read while Anmol holds jr in one hand and starts reading to Tammy, jr seems to be enjoying the story too and becomes really quite and doses off on Anmol's shoulder.
Ragini walks in with a glass of milk and places it on the side next to Anmol. She notices Anmol reading the book on one side and holding jr dozing off on his shoulder and takes jr who gets disturbed with the lift , Slowly Ragini starts to cradle him to sleep and sits on the rocking chair and listens to the story Anmol reads to Tammy. In no time Tammy sleeps off , and so does Jr on Ragini all bundled up . Anmol sets Tammy's sleep properly and leaves the book on the side table and walks up to Ragini.
He kneels down next to the rocker and looks at the sleeping infant and brushes his soft silky baby hair. Ragini who sees this gesture of Anmol says " Iskay baal aap hi kitarah hai" and starts to brush Anmol's hair. Anmol gazes at Ragini who seems to notice his change of expression as if hinting something instantly romantic(😛 😍☺️),gets up and walks to the bed to put jr for a nice and cozy night sleep.
Anmol gets up and walks towards the window to see the beautiful waxing gibbous moon shinning in the clear sky with a few scattered stars. With folded hands he rests his head against the wall and keeps looking at Ragini.
Ragini bundles jr well and notices the side table that Anmol never took his glass of milk and offers it to Anmol, " Nahi Ragini mujhey nahi peeni" "Kyun kya hoaa ?" came a worried Ragini.. " Bas Kal ka mai soch raha tha ki kar paunga ya nahi, You know i don't want to disappoint Tammy ", "Anmol aap zaroor ka payengay and I am sure " she touched his cheek to assure him .. Anmol held her hand and placed a kiss on it as if thanking her of the assurance. She gave him the glass of milk and he gulped it down his throat within seconds and wiped of the stain on his lips within an instant.
Leaving the glass on the table next top the window he grabbed Ragini by the waist and brought her close to him and whispered a "Thank You !" in her ears leaving a puzzled Ragini, " Tho yeah saab natak tha muhjey paas laney kay liye !!" "Nahi sweetheart U know what agar thum saat hoti ho na tho I am sure kuch bhi mushkil nahi hoga , 10 saal pheley roller blade aur aaj bhi roller blade saab ek hi hai !" As they keep looking deeply in each others eyes , the soft breeze fills in the room and the moon shines beautifully on Ragini, Ragini unable to meet Anmol's gaze lowers her eyes.

Anmol lifts her chin and their eyes lock. His dark eyes gazed back at her with deep interest "Tho apko aaj say akeley sona hoga!!" "mai tho couch pay soounga ," He starts teasing her , Ragini understanding his provocation and puts her hand around his neck and starts caressing his neck " Teek hai Saat saal say tho aap who kaam kar rahey ho aur aab tho Tammmy ki wajah say sahi , " and she gives him a gaze back smiling, Anmol with his index finger starts tracing her face, moving the hair lock behind her ear and comes to her chin and draws her closer , as they are inches away from each other "Achha tho aab ko meri doori chaligi " he commanded, "Haan chalegi " was Ragini's prompt reply ,trying to move off, but his hold was really strong and she was breathing high on and their lips were inviting when a cooing distracted their attention and Anmol slowly loosen his hold and she looked at a regreted Anmol,"Apka laadla utt gaya (ufff ..pehele 1 KMH thi ab to 2 ...2 😭😆..arre mummy papa ko toda to romance karne do🤣)" he whispered to which she smiled and walked to the bed to pat him back to sleep.
Anmol slightly disappointed with the mood call, walked towards Ragini and kissed her forehead and whispered "good night mai chala apney addey pay ", and goes to the couch and sets the pillow and snuggles into a deep sleep...Leaving a smile on Ragini's face.
[Next Morning, around 6 am]
Tammy wakes up promptly and sees around to make sure she doesn't disturb Ragini or jr who are in deep sleep and she tip toes towards Anmol and taps him slowly "papa uttiye apnay kaha na ki apko jaldi utade " Anmol turns around to see Tammy wiping her eyes to clear her vision and he gets up to sit and holds her by the arms, "O yes Tammy chalo mai tiyaar hokar atta hoon, Abhi bhi washroom jakey meet me in 10 mintues in the living room, aur Gunni say stopwatch lekar anna..[Gunni keeps it for her use so Anmol remebered and asked her to borrow it]
Anmol rushes down to see Tammy waiting for him " Chalo bachha lets quietly go out to the drive way aur mayray rollers kaha hai " he looks around " yeah rahey" came Gunni with them as she also wanted to see her Chachu practice and give him all the cheer before the final countdown.
Anmol sat on the steps and wore his rollers and his knee pads and wrist pads and not to forget his helmet .
"Wow chachu you look really cool " as she saw him all geared up he walked up to Gunni " Thanks " he said and started to go slowly making sure the rollers wouldn't wobble to the side, and the heels and toes don't slip when you go from side to side. To get used to the added height he readjusted his center of balance by taking the support of the nearby yard chair kept at the door. He took a few steps, then while standing still, move one foot forward while gradually increasing pressure. He made sure the roller brakes were intact and working. Then, doing the same with the other foot until he was able to "glide" back and forth in a small given area a few times. He seem to be quite comfortable , and confident after so many years and took deep breaths, and focused on the road.
"Gunni ,Tammy stop clock start karna aur batana kitney deer mai 400 meters cross karoonga" and points to the yard chair on the other end and tells them thats the finish line.
He took position and gave them the signal to start "OK 1-2-3 go " was their call starting the stop watch and Anmol started to practice his marathon.
He made to laps to cover the distance of 400 meters assuming each lap was 200 meters. His timing was pretty good at 2min.15sec and his calculations felt that he could make a 500 meters distance in 2.10 mintues. he stood up taking a deep breath and Tammy and Gunni came up to him and said " Chachu aur pratice karna hai ya ho gaya " " Ek aur baar karthey hai abhi tho bahut time hai ",looking at his wrist watch he confirmed. " Chalo " they ran to the start line and Anmol followed them.
He starts again and cheers keep engulfing the atmosphere ...
In the room, chirping of the birds and the cheers disturbed ragini's sleep. She got up to looks around to notice two key people not snuggled in but missing from the room, "Arrey Tammy Aur Anmol Kaha gaye!!",walking towards the window and sees Anmol, Gunni and Tammy in the drive way.
Taking the mobile and baby monitor she rushes down the flight of stairs to reach the main door and watches the performance being cheered by Tammy and Gunni.
As she sees from a distance Anmol approaching the point of finish which is also the place where Ragini is standing cheers still engulfing the floor. Anmol speeds up to the finish line and stops his brakes right next to Ragini breathing heavily and sweat tricking from his fair complexion.
Ragini looked at him and kept staring as she had never seen him in this gear up, He looked like an Olympian who was gearing up for an athletic meet ran through her mind as this flavor seemed differnt than usual and she smiled blushed she had every daam expression on her face.
"Chachi" "mama " came a chorus of Gunni and Tammy, Tammy hugging her and Gunni went around Ragini holding her leaning on her shoulder and looking at Anmol "Chachi Chachu kitney handsome dik rahey na is outfit mai ", Anmol kept gazing at Ragini still breathing and sweating and suddenly he took her pallu and wiped his face, "Arrey yeah kay kar rahey ho " she pulls her pallu back and smiles at Anmol "Gunni lagtha hai apkey Chachu ki tayyari ho gaye!!" and she looks at Anmol and gives him another broad smile.." Mama papa tho ready hai marey school kay race kay liye hai na papa" and Tammy reached for a Hi fi from him!!
Anmol removes his rollers sitting on the chair near by and they get inside to get ready for the event on that day.
Anmol is offered some dahi shakkar for good luck by ragini and he happily accepts it. Jr is also all dressed , Alekh and Gunni and Khushi also accompanies them. Anmol keeps his rollers in a gym bag and picks his keys up. "Papa mai apkey saat aoongi " Tammy holds anmol's hand and Ragini and jr go in one car, while Alekh, Gunni and Kushi follow them in another.
[St Marks school grounds]
They reach the school and after parking they come across a sign board "Line check in participants" and Anmol follows the direction and shows the volteers the forum and he signs up a sheet. " Apka jersey No 5 hai yeah lejiye 5 minute mai vaha startline kay yaha khade ho jaeeye " a voulnteer gives him a red jersey with the number 5 printed on it.
Quickly Anmol wears the jersey over his outfit , adjusts his helmet and goes to meet Ragini and Tammana. "all the best papa " Tammana hugs and wishes him. " Thanks sweetheart " Anmol kisses her forehead.
Ragini embraces Anmol while holding jr "Best of luck" came a confident call from her and he kissed her forehead and caressed jr. As he walked of Alekh, Gunni and Khushi shouted in chorus " all the best!" waving back Anmol wore his coolers which were specially used by bikers and roller bladders and walked towards the start line looking around at the field and calculating his distance of coverage and timing he noted during his practice.
Families went up to the stand to cheer their participants. The rajvansh parivaar were sitting in in the second row and the track was visible with full coverage.
[Annoucement: "Welcome to the 3rd annual St marks fund raiser compition. Aaj kal sports meet mai inter school kay participants parents hai aur kushi ki baat hai ki saab parents nay kafy tayyari ki hai is noble cause kay liye. Wishing them all the best and may the best man win. I request all participants to assemble at the start line. 500 meters ka race hai aur field 250 meters ka circumference hai , so aap saab ko 2 lap bana padega, So aap saab log tayyar hai "]
Cheers are heard by the spectators and the participants way their way to the crowd.
Anmol is standing on lane 5 wearing No5 jersey, Similar appearance is seen with other participants who are standing in their respective lanes. Anmol tightens his roller blades and makes sure they are sitting properly.
The participants take their position in their tracks
[Announcement :" participants aap saab log position ley lijiye,aur count down shuru ho raha hai ", 5-4-3-2-1 and BANG!!]
Off they go the participants on their respective tracks, participants on lane 1, 3 go half way and loose their balance and with draw from the race, Anmol on track 5 and another participant on track 6 seem to be going neck to neck during the first half of the lap
[Announcement : "lane 5 or 6 kar participant baraabar daud rahey hai apney roller blades pay lagtha hai hi tie hoga]
"Come on Chachu " came a loud cheer from the crowd as Anmol moved ahead on his lane, " dad come one you got to be faster " came a neighouring cheer " lane 6 lane 6 " the boy kept cheering.
"Jersey no 5 merey papa merey papa " Tammy also joined the cheer.
Anmol could hear all these cheers and made him very confident of his win. It truly felt like old times for him.
One lap was almost completed and only participants from lane 2 , 4, 5, 6 were still on track, Suddenly lane 2 participant seem to slow down and stopped completely as he couldn't take it any more, and walked out of the track field

Cheering still going on
Anmol seem to have speed-ed up his rollers and zoomed way ahead in the second lap covering the 2/3rd of the distance and to a quick look back and noticed that participant in lane 4 had also pulled out and lane 6 participant was still a for long away which gave him the thought he would take time to catch up, as he turned back to speed up one of his rollers got unlocked and he lost his balance and fell😭
" ANMOL , PAPA, ANMOL , Chachu " came a scream from the crowd....The shocked expression on Ragini's face ....
