On my own also, I never asked for a source. Rather, when asked why not believe Kinshuk's own words, led me to ask "how do I believe it is Kinshuk's words"...straight forward answer of this would have been to provide a proof that these r indeed Kinshuk's words...

There are many referrencing forms and formats. Or a simple mention often does the trick in non-academic atmospheres. But we learn referencing so that we can use it anywhere applicable.
