With the risk of being considered an old-timer 😎, I will write:
Indian consumers mean all those people who would buy the products included in P&G's product line offered inside the Indian Territory. NOTE: They are consumers of such products (included in P&G product line), but certainly have options between many companies.
There is a great relation between Indian consumers and the programmes by P&G. It is called ETHICAL CONSUMERISM and also SUSTAINABLE CONSUMPTION while also POSITIVE CONSUMERISM...
Now these terms might all seem similar, and they are ofcourse, but each of these terms target a specific behavior of the consumer - which would effect the sales of a business - and thus push the business to include the dimention of MORALITY/ETHICS to get hold of PRECIOUS CUSTOMERS in this highly competitive market.
As you know, since the emancipation of the MARKETING CONCEPT ... the world of Consumers and also Business have drastically changed. Putting it simply, supply is far greater than demand, and the end users are far much more selective then they ever had been before.
In such an atmosphere, imagine a company getting an edge due to being socially responsible, environmentally responsible and ethically sound?
So??... Dont you still see the link?.... it should be clear by now 😉
The consumers play a VITAL role in pushing businesses in the right track. As the consumers are by far the strongest STAKE HOLDER which IF UNITED can take a business higher than the STARS, or bring a Giant Corp biting dust....
Have you heard about NIKE? ... The ethical challenges faced by NIKE got it almost bankrupt! ... The CEO had to publically beg forgiveness ... WHY? ... the consumers turned against them! ... WHY DID THEY TURN AGAINST THEM? ... because the subcontractors of NIKE were not ethically or morally responsible ... the wages were super low ... the work conditions were horrable...etc etc... While REEBOK went on to become a GIANT right at that same point of time. WHY? - because they did exactly those things right that NIKE did WRONG!!! ... And Reebok things were sometimes costlier.
Thus ... my friends ... buy things with "FAIR TRADE" logo stictched on them. It means that the supplier were given the right value for their products. The work conditions were good. The wages were proper ... and the children were not forced to work like dogs ....
Now comes schools and hospitals. These are part of ethical actions and positive business initiatives ... such actions should tell the consumer that the business with whom they trade are HUMANE and RESPONSIBLE ... and therefore deserve their money more than the GREEN MEAN MONEY MAKING MACHINE kinda people.
Now lets come to Sustainability. Wonder why SHELL makes all those researches and takes all those initiatives to develop alternative/renewable energy resources ... other etc etc things ... develop schools ... give scholarships?? ... Because they want to prove that they are in for SUSTAINABLITY ... they are a business which are not there to loot and destroy. And it plays a very vital role WHEN THE CONSUMER IS AWARE. And in todays world, if the consumer is unaware, then the consumer is very irresponsible (to be respectful).
Now lets move on to more Ethics:
Enron ... the Corp Giant ... the Big Guy ... FELL... WHY? ... fraud!!!
The CEO was a great philanthopist by the way ... many CSR activities ... but he used to steal money from his company. CROOK in plain words. And that would be harming Stak-holders, employee rights and many more things ... and all those things are included in Ethics.
So buy good to live good ... know what you are doing!... Simple....
By the way ... the paper you use, is it made by pulp taken from "farmed trees"??....
Your make-up things ... are they tested on animals????....
Check check check my dear friends ... 😉😳😆
BY THE WAY... just to make it simpler ... business will do alot more if we just do a little ... lets keep our eyes open and not be easily fooled! ...
HEY .... DID I GET YOU GUYZ TO SLEEP?? 🤣
