But if I say that this thread is for people who are old and not interested in romance then no one will come here for sure....😆
So better change the title of the topic to "P & G and love towards....", then I bet this thread will also be a hit.😃
But, it is a very nice discussion. I hope many people come here and discuss.
Chalo, I will go to sleep now. Hopefully, will get to see some nice posts from viewers tom.

@I-T, Indian consumers means the people who buy P&G products is it? If so, what is the relation between Indian consumers and the programmes by P&G (or any other company)?

With the risk of being considered an old-timer 😎, I will write:

Indian consumers mean all those people who would buy the products included in P&G's product line offered inside the Indian Territory. NOTE: They are consumers of such products (included in P&G product line), but certainly have options between many companies.

There is a great relation between Indian consumers and the programmes by P&G. It is called ETHICAL CONSUMERISM and also SUSTAINABLE CONSUMPTION while also POSITIVE CONSUMERISM...

Now these terms might all seem similar, and they are ofcourse, but each of these terms target a specific behavior of the consumer - which would effect the sales of a business - and thus push the business to include the dimention of MORALITY/ETHICS to get hold of PRECIOUS CUSTOMERS in this highly competitive market.

As you know, since the emancipation of the MARKETING CONCEPT ... the world of Consumers and also Business have drastically changed. Putting it simply, supply is far greater than demand, and the end users are far much more selective then they ever had been before.

In such an atmosphere, imagine a company getting an edge due to being socially responsible, environmentally responsible and ethically sound?

So??... Dont you still see the link?.... it should be clear by now 😉

The consumers play a VITAL role in pushing businesses in the right track. As the consumers are by far the strongest STAKE HOLDER which IF UNITED can take a business higher than the STARS, or bring a Giant Corp biting dust....

Have you heard about NIKE? ... The ethical challenges faced by NIKE got it almost bankrupt! ... The CEO had to publically beg forgiveness ... WHY? ... the consumers turned against them! ... WHY DID THEY TURN AGAINST THEM? ... because the subcontractors of NIKE were not ethically or morally responsible ... the wages were super low ... the work conditions were horrable...etc etc... While REEBOK went on to become a GIANT right at that same point of time. WHY? - because they did exactly those things right that NIKE did WRONG!!! ... And Reebok things were sometimes costlier.

Thus ... my friends ... buy things with "FAIR TRADE" logo stictched on them. It means that the supplier were given the right value for their products. The work conditions were good. The wages were proper ... and the children were not forced to work like dogs ....

Now comes schools and hospitals. These are part of ethical actions and positive business initiatives ... such actions should tell the consumer that the business with whom they trade are HUMANE and RESPONSIBLE ... and therefore deserve their money more than the GREEN MEAN MONEY MAKING MACHINE kinda people.

Now lets come to Sustainability. Wonder why SHELL makes all those researches and takes all those initiatives to develop alternative/renewable energy resources ... other etc etc things ... develop schools ... give scholarships?? ... Because they want to prove that they are in for SUSTAINABLITY ... they are a business which are not there to loot and destroy. And it plays a very vital role WHEN THE CONSUMER IS AWARE. And in todays world, if the consumer is unaware, then the consumer is very irresponsible (to be respectful).

Now lets move on to more Ethics:

Enron ... the Corp Giant ... the Big Guy ... FELL... WHY? ... fraud!!!

The CEO was a great philanthopist by the way ... many CSR activities ... but he used to steal money from his company. CROOK in plain words. And that would be harming Stak-holders, employee rights and many more things ... and all those things are included in Ethics.

So buy good to live good ... know what you are doing!... Simple....

By the way ... the paper you use, is it made by pulp taken from "farmed trees"??....

Your make-up things ... are they tested on animals????....

Check check check my dear friends ... 😉😳😆

BY THE WAY... just to make it simpler ... business will do alot more if we just do a little ... lets keep our eyes open and not be easily fooled! ...

HEY .... DID I GET YOU GUYZ TO SLEEP?? 🤣

You are right. We have a proverb in Kannada (my mother tongue) which says, "by looking at the seedling, you can make out how the plant would be".
But, my question is even after changing the title not many replies, how come? 😕

@IT,
Very well written. I dont have much idea about marketing/business strategies from this perspective. Though I am into consumer behavior research (for technological products), it is only from consumers' perspective. I know about some of the projects MNCs take up in developing countries, and was bit confused about the relation between consumers and these programmes.
You are right. Consumers need to play an important role in pushing the companies and business in the right track. If all the consumers are aware and intelligent then companies will also play their role of being socially and environmentally responsible. This link is important.

Surprising. May be some havent seen the topic yet. (Being positive 😃)
But its an interesting topic actually. There are many organizations (either internl charity orgn or MNCs) who are into these programmes. Mainly in education, health and agriculture sectors. They normally take support from IIMs and IITs to implement. India is a test bed for many companies to develop such programmes in developing countries.

Hey Pallavi .... i don't know whether i am old or not and i am also interested in Romance 😉 ...still i replied to this thread 😛 ... i think this is one of the nicest thread (ofcourse after VASINDER ) where we all can share something which is worthwhile
back to topic : now a days i have seen a new trend among charity organisation ,they ask their volunteers to go door to door and make people aware about their work and also influence them for donation for their charity and these volunteers are young college going students or people working in BPO/call center or even IT .
The only drawback is some fraud people take advantage of this and they pose as vlounteer of so and so charity organisation and try to fool people and get money out of them

He he....Dont worry, I was just kidding...Btw, I am also interested in romance 😳 Hence I like my husband and SRK 😆
Yes, in this thread we can share something worthwhile, just like in Vasindu club, we share comedy....😊
I didnt know about volunteers. Heard about govt. teachers doing similar stuff in rural areas. This also is nice. But, as you said, it may be difficult for people to trust even the honest ones. Thats why may be if govt. orgns are involved, people wont be fooled that easily.

@hereandhappy:

Thank you dear friend for your kind words.

I graduated from a business school in the UK, thus I am supposed to know all these things. As a profession I source garment and knitwear from India and Bangladesh to supply to retailers across Europe (mostly the Nordic areas - Centered in Swed - ... plus the central parts of Europe too).

Business ethics is something very important for me. This is the LAZIEST period of my life, as I lay back in Delhi, doing practically nothing but keeping a contact with my work though mail and phone and faxes ... still, thankfully there are responsible people and a good structure on which I can rely.

This is very essential for you BUSINESS LEARNERS to understand that anything SYSTEMATIC is very essential in business. Always try to establish the structure first ... and then expand. DO NOT AIM short term goals over long term ones. Even if you make a dollar less, do give more emphasis on creating a proper and reliable structure.

For business people, to survive in the modern world, you need to use Business Ethics/Sustainability as a leverage against the EXTREMELY COMPETITIVE MARKET PLACE around you. This is the tool for tommorow ... and rightfully so aswell.

Ethical consumerism. sustainability, responsible behavior etc etc ... have a very effective economic dimention to them aswell. Its basically good for business and people. Some shallow business dont like to understand this ... and I promise you that they will suffer in the long run (basically fall like a pack of cards).

If I go on to explain more "WHY" - "HOW" - "WHEN" - "WHERE" - "WHAT" of CSR and Business Ethics - links to Consumerism ... then I will have to write a book in here 🤣🤣🤣.... I dont think neither of us will then remain interested 😉.

Now coming back to our very own BIDAAI 😊 ... Mamaji speaks of P&G through the show due to his clear image. This clear image was earned specially during the rift track in which he SIDED WITH THE MOST PURE, CHASTE AND TRUTHFUL personality of Bidaai ... Sadhna. This is a very important aspect if you go on to research further on PROMOTION TOOLS.
