Yeh, I am from West Bengal...his movies are a treat to watch...also, his father and my grandfather were good friends, his father was a DSc in Mathematics and a great music teacher too...My aunts used to learn music from him...He never did any bengali film. I heard from my father, that Hrishikesh Mukherjee initially went to Mumbai as an editor under Bimal Roy...
did u see Golmaal, which had Amol Palekar and Utpal Dutt. Also, Rang Berangi?
I like Vasu Chatterjee's movies also a lot, so simple and clean concept..
I hope our TV industry can make some stories like them..its a treat to watch..
Oh you know their family so well. Thats really nice.
Both my husband and I are his fans. I have to tell him about this.
I have seen Golmaal, Abhiman, Anand, Asli Nakli, Bemisal, Chupke Chupke, Khubsurat, Mili, Bawarchi, guddi and Alap. Namak Haram also is his movie right? Have seen that. And also the latest (I think his last), Jhoot Bhole (Anil and Juhi). But, havent seen Rang Berangi. Who was there in that?
Vasu Chatterjee's stands next to Hrishikesh Mukherjee. Just yesterday only that movie was coming. Forgot the name. 3 oldies falling for Rati Agnihotri. Finally, Kamal Hassan marries.. Have seen it long back and again yesterday they were showing on Sony.
Yes, it is a treat to watch these movies. And the best part is it can be watched with everyone (parents and children) together.
