look for Mamaji's duty towards Sadhna after her father died, how Kaushi for her own selfish reason handed Sadhna over to her opportunist relatives...How Mamaji went and saved Sadhna

Yeah they gave really nice intros to all the characters so far. Mamiji bhi na...bas cannot believe she won't give up her prejudice until she gets freakin' brain surgery!

Sadhna looks so lovely! Ragini is pretty too. Seriously give it up..."Ragini dhoop bohot tez hai"...so what? She has lovely facial features regardless...and long beautiful hair...

this was just the beginning of Kaushi's emotional torture of Sadhna...Kaushi made Ragini look inferior, no one else every brought up "fair and lovely" issue...😃..noone actually cared for Ragini's dark complexion other than Kaushi....neither Mamaji, nor Sadhna nor nani or vinu...

Actually, the main concept of Bidaai..Sapna babul ka...unless someone sees from the first episode, cant make out..the show itself starts with Sadhna's father at the University of California decorating the "guriya" or a model of Sadhna...and then Sadhna's introduction...then Ragini's ..Kaushi's ..Malti;s...you can find the basic characteristic of each from the first episode...

Sadhna letting a pigeon fly, her running aorund and looking for Ragini.these have unique meanings..Ragini looking at the Taj Mahal...Kaushi's attitude to Gujri, the maid...these are the qualities of each and every character...
all these introduces the characters with their basic nature...one thinks about freedom and values happiness of life (if one lets a bird fly, that signifies that the person is aware that is happiness for that little life, which is to bring happiness), one is a dreamer (Ragini), Kaushi's strict yet dutiful nature, Malti's complaining nature...

And I remember, Sadhna's first words were about "jiji" and Ragini's was about her "prince charm". Even during their college days, the difference is clearly shown. Sadhna was not thinking much about love and marriage. Her interest was only revolving around Ragini and anticipating a mother's love from Kaushi.

Yes, Kaushi's character was clearly shown there. She was mainly thinking of Ragini. But, she herself was not happy that Sadhna was not treated properly by her. If you remember, Malti was telling Sadhna that if Sadhna goes from here, then they will have to look for a maid. Immediately, Kaushi said that Sadhna is not a maid here.
This shows her character very well. She is basically a nice person. But, just couldnt tolerate Sadhna because she always thought Sadhna will be a threat to Ragini.

More than Kaushi, Sadhna seemed to have been eager to get her "jiji" "prince charm"..Sadhna is a gem of a character...I dont understand how people can say nasty words about her...

Kaushi's character was very well shown when Ragini's marriage broke and Kaushi tried to commit suicide. She accepted why she could not love Sadhna...but whats the net effect...she again reverted back and started torturing Sadhna

Sadhna's character is sketched beautifully. It is a flaw-less character.
I normally dont get very emotional seeing serials. But, many of Sadhna's scenes in the show were very touching. One example is, the one where she comes down from the terrace shouting to mami that that her father has come. She was so happy that her father has come and she was telling that to mami (who dont bother a bit about her). She was so happy that her father is coming and taking her along with him (May be she really wanted to go away from that place even though Mamaji and Ragini loved her so much). That scene was worth watching. Any stone hearted person also will melt seeing that.
Only one thing which I dont like (that too recently) is her surrendering nature towards Vasu, who totally has become evil.

@pallavi,

you are right about Sadhna's surrendering nature to Vasu, but I did like her resistance to Vasu during the divorce paper signing. At least she tried.

You must see that scene, may be you have seen, when she dropped a heavy flower pot on her feet, so that she would not be able to walk and come out, when a guy was coming to see Ragini....

No, I havent seen that. I remember you have mentioned it somewhere in the forum once. Actually, I started seeing only after Vasu was introduced in the serial and when Sadhna was going there to teach. I have seen first few episodes in youtube later. But, this one I havent seen. I should check it.
