Art and media are not only reflections of society, but also have a responsibility towards it. Thus, while depicting darker sides of society, e.g., excessive greed, dishonorable intentions, poor view of dark skin, mistreatment of the weak, etc., it also holds responsibility to depict characters who represent morally and ethically sound capabilities as well as progression towards psychological growth so they may move in the direction of making sound choices.
With respect to SBB, this implies that while there are negative and mean characters like Naveen, Avni, Kaushi, Nani and Malti, the show should also focus on growth of characters. Thus, Ragini, for example, who is essentially a moral and ethical human being, should grow into assertive, self assured, mature woman, capable of making sound and informed decisions. Thus far, she has lived a sheltered life, has been influenced by her mother, especially in time of distress, thus has learned the blame game. She has yet to experience life-turning moments which might propell her towards growth. One way she grows is by realizing that she has been nothing but a silly, over emotional human being at least through the current track. She needs to understand that she herself has been solely responsible for the miscarriage by refusing to take care of herself.
Sadhana, likewise, needs to grow as a chracter. She performs significant amounts of sacrifice for her loved ones, yet receives a great deal of abuse and neglect. In order to grow, Sadhana needs to question herself; why is it OK for Kaushi, Vasu & Ragini to blame her? Additionally, those who care for her and should support her in times of distress, are essentially spineless, e.g., Ragini, Alekh and Inderjeet.
My opinion is that Sadhana faces a dependent personality syndrome, where people survive by sacrifising for others without demanding anything in return. She needs to move in the direction of being an educated, independent mature woman capable of surviving without anyone's help. Sadhana, therefore, needs to move out of Mama Ji's home and keep distance from Alekh for sometime.
