Your topic is just excellent. But where most of us are getting stuck, is Ragini is Mamaji's own daughter and Sadhna niece and we are thinking more like Kaushi---that Mamaji is siding with his Bhanji.
Mamaji is not siding with his Bhanji, rather he is siding with the truth. I'ld say Hats off to creatives, who have done such a wonderful study of average minded people and at the same time trying to show characters like Sadhna and Mamaji. Its not a matter of Mama-Bhanji, but two like- minded people, who hold truth same as God, and incidentally they are Mama-Bhanji here. If instead of Sadhna, Ragini was trying to speak truth and was not willing to lie for Alekh's sake, Mmaji would have supported Ragini also.
Its not Mamaji and Sadhna relationship, its rather two like- minded people. In Sadhna's place, if Kaushi wanted to speak truth and if Sadhna would have suffered because of that, I am pretty sure Mamaji would have supported Kaushi also.
