Dina,the fact that Alekh mentioned that Valmiki was once a thief and later became a great sage might have offended certain sections.

People got offended as they are not even aware of the whole life of Valmikiji. His transition from a robber to a sage, there are many stories as to why and how he became a sage, special reference to Brahmaji... I dont have much time now, I'll in detail later...

Actually, in India many people are still below the literacy level.. this creates the problem.. and sentence what Mamaji said about Rishi Valmiki is actually the moral of the fact about Valmiki's life...

Now not even the actors and producers are well read... in the previous generation, creatives like Satyajit Roy, Mrinal Sen, Prakash Jha, actors like Amitabh Bachchan, Dilip Kumar, Sunil Dutt, Raj Kapoor, Nargis they were not olnly excellent in their field, but each one was so knowledgeable in every aspect of life....if anyone hears them talking, one can make out the depth of their knowledge...

Now-a-days, people dont even read and thus they dont have any knowledge about anything...

I felt so upset Smitha, I mean their intention to mention about Rishi Valmiki was to give such an example whom we can follow.. people just take the wrong message...
