I think chotima killed him because he gave away all the property to vasu.

Thats a million dollar question you have asked... we are all discussing various topics, but you have asked the most relevant question, why was dadaji killed....as his death led to all miseries for Alekh...I think the creatives will show some of Dadaji's scenes, as the person whose photo is there as Dadaji used to be renowned actor... remember, he played Salman's dad in Maine Pyar kiya...
