I dont think a year is all that unrealistic, but I dont see how they can make a fiull recovery happen, in like, 6 weeks. This is a full blown medical condition, he is not just a skitzophrenic, he is also mentally stunted. Hes never had anything but a childhood, and has no clue, at all, what being a man means.

What, he goes to work with Ranveer three times a week and sees his wife shot and thats a shock cure? I think Anghad is right in predicting its going to take as much time to slowly recover Alekh as it took for us to get introduced to him, to start to understand him, and then to fall in love with his childlike nature.

I realize how damn frustrating its likely to be, but I am looking forward to a slow recovery, which really examines the implications of this. Whats he going to do? How will he learn even the basics of adulthood?Education?? learn about being a man? Develop relationships?

This recovery has to be gradual, unlike it was in Dulhann where Amar is like, fine over the next few weeks after a handy operation and ready to helm a multimillion dollar business.

Napmonster, I don't mind a slow gradual recovery as long as they focus on that and not go off track. For awhile now, something or the other kept stopping it. As long as Bidaai doesn't waste time showing nonsense, I'm good with watching Aalekh's recovery.

Absolutely Rahm, but there are several barriers to any recovery track, and the first barrier has been Alekh himself, as we discussed. That had to be dramatically broken, and I think with Sadhna shot, he is sufficiently ready to start examining himself, and most importantly, find that he is lacking.

The issue is that he now would likely want to fix that, an be an active participant in his treatment, which would be essential to Shlok getting any response. The patient realizing the existence of a problem needs to happen before the doctor can be asked to come fix it.

That said, the other barriers which we know. Whether or not the shooting was done by Naveen (Which I really think is just a red herring) Naveen was hardly the cause of Alekhs trauma. Finding out who was the cause Im sure will also be a shock. It at this point can only be a close family member, even someone he trusts completely. Sol;ving the riddle wont cure him, it'll be even more trauma if the person isnt like, the servant, but Choti mas, say.

Thats why I think a fully functional Alekh is a good 7-10 months away.

Nap, oh, I'm definitely okay with that. I just want to see less of Kaushi's drama and Avni and Naveen's stupidity and more focus on Shlok getting to the depths of Aalekh's mind.

It would be nice to see Aalekh as an active participant in his recovery. Right now, he has no idea that he's being treated. He knows that he's not mentally sound, so I felt that Shlok and Sadhana could have discussed the fact that Shlok is trying to help him because now that Aalekh has his incentive, he could have gone and been more open with Shlok so that he can get better. Aalekh would have known who to turn to right now.

The alienation Alekh is feeling now is for me, is the natural reaction of a shamed little boy, but I think if he still sees Shlok as his childhood friend, he can ultimately talk openly to him.

If he knew his friend was a doctor triying to treat him, and then seeing his doctor having to protect Sadhna, his confidence in himself have gone entirely. Shlok can still reach him now, reveal that he is there to help, and help Alekh move from shame to realization, and then Alekh can CHOOSE therapy.

So far, he cannot even speak to anyone about any of this. If he already saw Shlok as his doctor, given how ashamed and unhappy he is, he might have shut down and not wanted help from a "doctor" and not a "friend."

What worries me, as a potential problem not to far down the line, Rahm, is Shlok's evident liking for Sadhna. The guy who is playing him is doing a fantastic, subtle job of it, but Its pretty obvious whats going to happen, and all the Sadhna "ji"s in the world wont stop him from falling on love with her soon.

I would hope that this wont lead to the usual family drama and accusations of infidelity and Sadhna being attacked as usual, but we can at least hope for some Alekh recovery before we take that inevitable track huh?
