As for the people who find it boring, well that's their opinion. If they equate simplicity and realism to boring then I guess they really are better off watching those OTT effects-filled, loud drowning sound bhara, derivative, regressive, repetitive, 1-dimensional characters-filled and ridiculous storied K-serials.

Exactly. And it's not like BMTD has a patent/copyright on mentally-stunted characters. BMTD fans complaining that Bidaai is a copy of their fav show merely because Alekh is mentally unstable just like Sagar was (though he was not schizophrenic like Alekh is) would be like saying Vidya is a copy of the countlesss K-serial female lead characters because she was meek and submissive, etc. just like the female leads in K-serials. Pointing fingers on a show for being unoriginal simply because it has one character that has a prominent characteristic which is in common with a characteristic of a character from another show is utterly ridiculous. I'm not saying that Bidaai is all so original as it is (nothing is really), I'm just saying that it is most definately not a copy of BMTD and that people shouldn't be so quick to say something is unoriginal because of small similarities and coincidences.

BMTD and KSBKBT are not staples of originality themselves. When BMTD first aired, people had compared it to Saath Phere, etc. The people on the BMTD forum now are even openly admitting that the current storyline is a rip off of another show. Nothing is all that original these days anyway, so why complain?

I don't know why people think its a copy, loads of serials have a mentally stunted lead character. There's a show on Sony, Aathva Vachan which started recently and it has a mentally stunted girl. I remember, years ago when i was little my mum used to watch a serial Choodiyan with the same concept, and that was before Ekta even started doing shows, or it was around the time KSBKBt started
