Dark and ugli need not go hand in hand. And there are many people like vasu out there who are prejudiced enough to believe that dark equates to ugli and fair equates to beautiful.

It's not about being ugly. Even dark ppl look beautiful but some ppl have a mind set beauty means fair skin. How much we come ahead in terms of technology but this thinking keeps us backwards. About Ranvir, he was not ready to believe Ragini was Anamika remember when he was describing Anamika in front of Sadna he had a certain picture in his mind but yes whatever happened it was unfair to Ragini. She had to go through pain, rejection, humiliation once again.

But I don't think these words and attitude really give out any positive vibes. Why in the first place do we talk of acceptance or fault or dark/ugli etc. We never do so in case of the fair complexion. Dark can be beautiful and fair can be ugli . Fair is not necessarily beautiful and dark not necessarily ugli. And I am not speaking of inner beauty here.

I did not say Ragini is ugli because she is dark..What i meant is the above highlated words which perfectly applies to Ragini..rn''t they?😕..and all the above words i wrote what u put again in ur quote like aacceptance or fault or dark/ ugly ect all r inner feelings of Ragini..that is why she did take downstep to perform before Ranveer in the first place..
And coming to the Ranveer's case as Shruthi dear said He is thinking fair complexion is only the beauty not the dark .. so sad ..and that is what the most of people think. unfortunately.
and u r so true dear even fair looking people not necessarily beutiful...😊

All said and done, there is no excuse for the way Ranvir behaved.....just saying that he was 'confused' won't let him get away with it! I'm just thoroughly disgusted with him and Vasu right now.....Not really in the mood to be sympathetic towards his 'confusion' and whining that Anamika didn't turn out to be the way he thought.

100% agree, tum ne mere dil ki baat kehdi, and as for Vasu, she's fair i'll give her that but she ain't no beauty queen, personally i think ambikaji is more beautiful and all the make-up Vasu slaps on doesn't help. Does the women even own a mirror?!

ROFL! I completely agree!! Vasu looks like she slaps on 10 pounds of makeup everyday!🤢😆....Highly aritificial looking woman! God only knows what she has so much ego for....anyways, it wouldn't even bother me so much if she had some basic decency and respect for everyone else, but the way she's behaved in the last few epi....can't stand her right now🤢

well i personally dont understand what the big deal is.. ragini really isnt that dark and ugly.. the show makers have made this into such a huge issue and like its really kinda dumb.. i mean seriously.. if someone is so shallow and doesnt think about anything except for the way the person they love looks..then the girl or guy doesnt deserve em in the first place..personally am very upset at the show and the way they have made this such a big issue.. like seriously they make india look so backwards.. and its not! in the western world, dark is beautiful and exotic.. so if ranvir is supposed to be all modern and lived in abroad then shouldnt he have more sense then this?? i still love the show and all but im kinda pisssed about this... im not saying im right..just giving my opinion..(which probably doesnt even matter..hehe)

Well, I think it still is a big deal to people....even living in the U.S. skin color is important to some Indians here...Certain Indians are still always trying to lighten their skin with creams and such....I know cuz people come up to me and tell me to take better care of my skin and I'll get fairer...I always get compared to my fairer cousins, and my darker cousins always get compared to me....to lot of Indians, Fair= Beautiful....it really is sad, but its true....I've heard people make mean-spirted comments, especially if its the girl, when a couple has difference in skin color....It's also interesting that it's more acceptable for the guy to be darker than girl....and non-Indians who have fair skin love of our skin color and hate their pale complexsion....goes to show you, the grass is always greener on the other side....

^ That is so true! It's unfortunate but Bidaai is very realistic. The show is merely reflecting the ideas of society.

LOL yeah apux you're so right about fair skinned people liking tanned complexions. You know what Ragini should do, she should go to a club with only white guys where she would probably be approached by every guy in the place since she's so beautiful. That should give her a much needed confidence boost, and Ranvir might get a little jealous too 😉😆
