Hey guys...I just got to watch this show today (my guilty pleasure, or should i say my treat after my exams). But, it turn out that it was not a treat after all...I wanted to watch something fun and enjoyable but i ended up watching the opposite...right now u all must be thinking *here comes a basher*...Hey read fully before u make any assumption...
As i said, i wanted to treat myself after my exams (i think i hear u all say *u said that already, now get to he point*)...But the show made me cry, the episode when Jai told his family that he was gonna go US, and his family's reaction and then comes the day when he has to leave...It all reminded me of those times when i go to my home country, my family is originally from Sri Lanka, and i get all the love from my grand parents, aunts, uncle's, cousins, and all ( u get the picture) and then the dreadful day will come when me, my brothers and parents would have to leave our country, our family to go back our so called *home* in london...when i watched the episodes i remembered how my family will send us off smiling and will cry when they know that we can't see. And how we will put a smile on our face so that they don't cry but as soon as we are alone tears will run down our face.
We don't only leave our family behind, but our country, our REAL HOME and our heart...But we take our family's love, our culture with us, that is our most precious treasure...
There won't be any place like your home, that is ur country and the love of your family...My parents always say that we are an extended family, it stretch from SL to London.
And this show has depicted the emotions very well...Loved how his mother went to the glass door to get another glimpse of her son, that reminded me of my family, thats what they exactly do every time we leave at the end of our holiday. Hats off to the team.
But one thing for sure, May be people back in our country might forget our culture, but we who are far away from our country hold our culture very close to our heart and live our life accordingly...Its not a easy path, especially for children like me who have been brought up in a western culture, but i can tell u our culture is in every vein of our body!
P.S., don't mistake my parents for thinking they left their home country for money, in Sri Lanka people don't leave their country for money but to save their life most the time and i sure will make my life in my country when i become a doctor (yes, thats what im studying to become đł).
Sorry for the Long post, i can write more but i wont bore u with my sulking...lol
Thanks for taking time to read and yes, do share ur experience
Tc, Bless
Love
Sinthu
