Is money crucial part of life? Can it buy happiness?
Yes it's an important part of life because it's crucial to survival. You are working hard to lead a good life, thus it also plays an important role in getting happiness. To elaborate further, with money you can have dinner at good places and afford long vacations with your family. That gives you pleasure. These small things make big differences. It reduces your pressure too and provides security.
Who looks after your finances?
Citi Bank is where all my finances are secured. I have kept a personal banker who takes care of my finances. I tell him what and when to invest. Sometimes he calls me up for investment advice according to the change in the market.
How secure are you financially?
I have just made an early start three years back after entering this industry. There is a lot to do. Television offers secure money and I have a long way to go. I know one thing that I'm growing towards a safer and more secure side.
What kind of investments have you done till date?
I have invested my money in mutual funds, mediclaim, government bonds and public provident fund.
Are you not afraid of dealing in stocks?
There is a lot of risk in investing money in stocks. I don't even have a good knowledge about it so it's better to stay away from it. Over here the market is so uncertain and you can lose you money within no time.
Are you an impulsive buyer? How much approximately do you end up spending on yourself, by the end of the month?
Sometimes yes but I don't go beyond my reach. I don't buy stuff which is out of my budget. By the end of the month I end up spending Rs 15,000 on myself. Mostly, I buy clothes and sometimes they are from foreign countries.
What was the first thing you got hold off when you started earning? And the costliest thing you have ever bought till now?
First thing that I bought when I started earning was my first car. I bought a Zen for my parents and it's very precious for me. The costliest thing that I bought till date is again my own car Scoda.
Next on the list is a house in Andheri. Maybe by early next year or mid year I'll go ahead with it, if everything falls in place.
