I know this because Malika herself confessed her past to us all...

It was in the episode where Aaliya was left on the street and MP took her home. When Ranveer got home he was very worried about Aaliya and thats when Malika came and spoke to him and opened up about her past.

In the articles of Mallika's entry, it was given that Mallika is Ranveer's ex.

She likes Ranveer n wants him to b happy always n live a happy life, n she has realized that Ranveer is developing feelings for Aaliya..

I dun think she wil b a negative character, infact, I think she wil play cupid in their love story!!!!!
