June 15th Written Update

The naming ceremony of Gauri's baby takes place. The baby is named Krishna. Taiji tells everyone that Gauri had a picture of Krishna (the god?...I'm not hindu so forgive me for any mistakes) in her room and she used to look at that before falling asleep and when waking up. Taiji ties a thread with beads in it onto Krishna's wrist and puts a file in his cradle. The file is her gift to Krishna and it is some legal documents. She has transferred some property into his name. This has Sarla thinking.

Sarla is in her room, in deep thought. She decides to put up a picture of Krishna (the god?) on her wall and says she wants a son.

Sarla's mom is impatiently waiting outside a mandir. Avinash (?) arrives there and says he received a message that she fell ill at the mandir. Sarla's mom tells him she had to lie but she is going to get him married once more and the girl's family will be arriving soon. She tells him he will be free from Madhu forever but this has Avinash thinking of the love he had for Madhu and the many times he mistreated her. Avinash refuses to get married again and shocks his mother. He confesses all his misdeeds and tells her that Madhu has never wished ill for any of them despite how they have treated her. They are standing to the side of the mandir and just then Madhu shows up and tells the priest that she wishes to conduct a prayer for her family. Sarla's mom looks as if she feels bad for how she has treated Madhu. Sarla's mom walks upto Madhu who is praying and asks for forgiveness. Madhu forgives her. Avinash also asks for forgiveness. Sarla's mom joins Madhu and Avinash's hands.

Sarla wakes up in the morning, covers her eyes and only opens them when she is in front of the Krishna picture. Mohini walks in and shows her pleasure over this. Sarla agrees and says she has realized that saying there is no difference between the two genders is only for show and Taiji would never have given gifts to a daughter. Mohini tells Sarla about how if u tie something belonging to a newborn boy in your sari, you have a son yourself.

Sarla goes into Gauri's room when only Krishna is in there. She takes a bead from his bracelet. Dhani walks in looking for Gauri and Sarla quickly covers up that she was there to play with Krishna but he's sleeping. Sarla leaves but Dhani wonders why Sarla got so scared seeing her.

Everyone is gathered in the living room and Taiji is about to give Krishna a ma-lish. She notices that one bead is missing and asks Gauri who could've stolen that bead. Sarla clenches her sari and both Mohini and Dhani realize that it must have been Sarla. Buaji says that someone may have cast their evil eye and the bead could've broken. Taiji agrees and asks Mohini to get red chillis. Sarla leaves as well.

Sarla is in her room and unties her sari knot to take the bead out. Dhani touches her from behind and the bead drops. Dhani picks it up and asks why Sarla is doing this. Sarla tells her to go tell everyone as this way Dhani will look good in front of everyone. Dhani says she won't do any such thing and just wants to know why she did this. Sarla says she did this for a son and she only wants a son. Dhani tries to make her understand but Sarla doesn't care. The mother of a daughter doesn't receive the same respect as the mother of a son.
