The fact that this concept as premises for a love story is so fascinating is because it provides lot of contrasts, a deep insight into psyche of two different bt equally passionate ppl, and a lot of scope to explore their inner conflicting emotions and gives writer a chance to make the characters learn, grow, learn, and live!😳 There have been different stories said in different ways and every time it brings forth a new facet of such r'ships! Contrasting personalities, different goals and yet thy fall in love!😳
Now, here there is a boy with a loveless childhood, an alcoholic father and a workaholic mother. Sometimes the things tht seem utterly right to a partner in a relation can b utterly wrong for the other! Sometimes its difficult to understand what exactly went wrong betn the two and sometimes its too late to mend ways! Divorce is always a painful subject for a child, esp if he/she is a single child. Here thy have been estranged for too long and are still in combative mode. The problem with such parents is tht thy think thy have "right" on thr child and thts wer thr unconditional love becomes suffocating.
The situation is similar for Sanyukta. Her father is overly dominating and rarely gives his son or daughter or even his wife a chance to express thmslvs. The situation is as suffocating for Sanyukta as it is for Randhir.
What differs thm is the pain thy experience and the way thy tackle them!
Thr enemity sprouted from the fact tht Randhir resembles her father in so many ways and Sanyu his mother. Here it gave thm chance to fight back and prove thmslvs. Randhir's MCPness is bitter, hurtful, and largely fueled by his father's hatred for his mother. Sanyukta's hatred is in general manifestation of her frustration towards dominating and controlling figures in her life like her father, brother, and fiance Sameer, but she fights them back as she fights Randhir. She goes to the level of being manipulative to achieve her goals. He goes to the level of turning ugly to prove his extreme dislike for certain things. She did blast on her very first day to show us what exactly she is and he went to the extent of mentally harassing her day in and day out to prove his point.
But he might not have fallen for her had she not been so persistently keen on getting back on him. Even when he withdrew once following his mom's issue, she was doggedly remained after him like a pest, forcing him to fight back, face her, and not run away. I loved tht dialogue when she says "Face me!" thought it was misplaced in tht context in tht scene but in a way she made him face his biggest fear of his life - his mom. It was hurtful, painful, but she gave right advice. What irritates him most is though the fact tht she is not so sorted in her own life. She succumbs to pressures and delays to face the problem which irks him the most as he is perfectionist and likes to deal with the problems head on when he knows he has to! He reaches out to his mom and dad to reconcile. He reached out to Parth. He ran after Sanyukta on realizing she mite b in danger. He reached out to her wen she was pain! He is not typically arrogant. And he is not embarrassed to say a sorry either!
She on the other hand is impatient restless and foolhardy, again something he really disapproves in her. Its not jst pointing out to her vices, its like pointing out her mistakes for a corrective action. When she fails, he taunts her which fuels her determination further.😆 Its intrsting aspect of thr rship and it is because thr is no malice in thr heart for the other tht thy were able to bond in times of sadness and grief. Sanyukta seems to be stronger thn Randhir bt she lacks the foresight to see what is correct path for her. Randhir can see it but is too drowned in his own problems to help her or anyone out. But he does when thr is absolutely no hope left for thm, partly to cater to his own ego and partly out of his natural instinct to help others when in need! He first bonded with Sanyukta on tht front. He could see tht Sanyukta tries to find answers to everyone's problems, she is flawed sometimes, but she knows how to reach ppl. He complements her efforts by providing the right way to the solutions.
Midst all these, there is an innate need to compete with each other. Thr quarrels are superficial and often childish, but sometimes it is the best way one can express thmslvs, vent out thr frustrations, and relieve thr stress. And thy knew tht it wud hardly affect the other and thy knew tht wud care little. But things starts to get complicated when it all starts to affect thm and thy get really hurt! The mental tortures Randhir meted out on Sanyukta broke her at one point and she had tears of deep hurt in her eyes. It had affected Randhir bt he liked to believe tht thy didnt. But it was clear by the time Parth entered in Sanyukta's life how difficult it was for him to share her with someone else.
The thing tht irked him most was that Sanyukta wud shut her brain off when she was around Parth and also tht Parth seemed to understand Sanyukta more maturely thn himself. It was a double whammy tht he could hardly take without snapping! Superficially, ther was physical closeness too tht he could see betn Parth and Sanyukta and the more he tried to attract her attention by being what he always had been, the more she drifted towards Parth and censured his actions more severely. The prime reason for him hating Parth has always been Sanyukta, apart from the fact tht he is immature and a complete failure when it comes to handling his own matters, but he preaches high things to Sanyukta and she worships him blindly. So he wud've definitely rejoiced aftr trying the latest trick to make Parth fall in her eyes but he cudnt actually bcoz Sanyukta remained worried and unhappy. His aggression for her foolish fondness for Parth became so evident tht even Sanyukta was left wondering about his sudden change in behavior!😆
Sanyukta did everything at FITE except for completely focusing on her goal of becoming a mechanical engineer. She gets this brief attacks of self-realization but thn resorts quickly back to her old ways of wasting her time, energy, and brain after less important things. fighting small battles rather thn focusing on bigger battle ahead. She cudnt even handle her family. Randhir was rightly angry on her when he says tht she has no right to preach him when she cant handle her own family! AAh.. see her enemy knows her every weakness and ditto vice versa though. But he throws hurdles on her way in form of sameer and umpteen challenges and makes it as hard as possible for her only to see if she is capable of achieving or not! She fumbles, stumbles, but eventually overcomes those hurdles. He appreciates that, genuinely. She remains blindly unaware of it.🤔
Sometimes i wonder if it hadnt been for Randhir wud've she emerged as the strong and mature girl tht she is now. Parth essentially acts as a sounding board for her and doesnt necessarily prompt her to act definitively! Randhir on the other hand challenges her, draws out and underlines her every weakness. That is why sometimes an enemy can show you a mirror quite clearly thn your best friend. You are blessed if you find a frank and loyal friend. I think Kaustuki is a better in tht terms thn Parth. She understands her inside out, more thn Parth does and also knows to trust her instinctively. May b tht stage is not yet reached in thr f'shp as Parth has his own insecurities to deal with. But what I hate abt him is he is not ready to face the mirror where as Randhir embraced tht opportunity to open up completely. It shows his gullibility, the innocence of his heart, and the righteousness of his conscience. I think Sanyukta has long seen tht facet of Randhir when he wouldnt go beyond a certain limit in his enemity with her. She manipulated him because he wud act as such a jerk sometimes. but she always knew she cud put more trust on Randhir thn Sameer or perhaps her own brother. At least this enemy didnt attack on her back!😆 And she seemed to still care for her so-called enemy. I think tht hate kiss was the turning point in thr hate-hate relationship. Before tht kiss thy had enraged each other to the point of tipping! And it was fascinating to see how tht kiss pulled them back. Yes it was violent and raging but thr was a point when Randhir chose to kiss rather thn hurt her. We still don't know the nature of tht kiss but it wudn't have been so hurtful or else Sanyukta wud've found it abusive! but instead she was left shaken to the core. As a common girl with middle class values it was definitely shocking and disturbing for her because in her rage to get back she had kissed him. Hate, it was alright but thy didnt know thy were capable of hating in such a way!😆
I think this marked a beginning of something new in thr rship and we know Randhir cudnt forget it. She was the girl who had challenged his male pride, provoked his ego and stood against
his every challenge bravely. He had to fall for her. She was dependable and honest and a good teacher. I can see the many and subtle ways she has taught him important things of life like the latest one being, being responsible and mature for one's actions. I loved when she pointed out to him tht he didn't realize the meaning and importance of putting a ring on a girls finger. What she didnt know was tht he did. He jst didnt want to acknowledge it as he didnt believe in lasting relationships and didnt want her to get any ideas abt it either!😆 He is cute!😳
I also loved when she took care of him, which looked like sympathy and out of duty in the begining but thn I questioned myself why wud she go to tht extent in first place. An normal jst friend or enemy wudnt go to the extent of tending the wounds of one you wud hate!😳 Randhir rightly questioned her at this contradiction but not before spitefully spitting bitter words against Parth. This Parth has always been a distraction for thm. Every imp conversation wherein thy cud stop and introspect as to why the other said what he/she said or did what he/she did was overshadowed by Parth and his problems, b it her f'ship or his jealousy! Sigh, these little nuances of love that one fails to understand!😆
Thr silence about thr changing equation with each other is also quite remarkable! Not only thy chose not to, thy went a step ahead to communicate the other way with a touch, with a stare, a little hug, and a soft caress. When Randhir did tht first, she couldnt understand. But wen he reached for her, she reciprocated and accepted it. The words mite fail to describe thr present state of rship. Randhir needs her but doesnt want her actually!😆 Sanyukta knows she needs to b with him, but she cant actually!😆 This will mark the first strain in thr r'ship after this changed equation betn thm. Randhir wudnt want her anywhere near her because he knows she wud go away and Sanyukta wudnt want to indulge much bcoz she knows she has to go away! Beneath the calm thr is such tension! sometimes knowing a person too much stresses you so much! I guess thts y she forgot abt Parth completely!😆
I loved the way he pushed away the chair and got up and turned away by merely sensing her presence! he knew how she wud react, so he promptly turned and almost tried to stop her but she stumped him for the reasons better known to her only..😆 or perhaps not! not jst yet! She keeps on saying pata nahi main try bhi kyu karti hun, but thn she never gave up. That thing i loved so much. In spite of everything thy dont give up and cling on to tht fine thrd of bond and of hope! I love the way he keeps going back to her, opening up just a bit more and then pushing her away for the very same reason!😆 He is a fascinating character!😳
She almost gives up, but thn decides to go back. Her hand on his shoulder signified so much - her willingness to hear his problems, absorb his pain, and soak in the newly developed understanding betn thm which is going to act as his safety net. I loved when he didnt retort when she said tht nobody can take a mom's place. He was searching for a mother in Sanyukta. He could've cried in the lap of his mother but he did it in lap of Sanyukta. He could've hugged his mother to wash away his pain, but he hugged Sanyukta. The day tht he blurted out to his dad tht he needed her, he had already realized tht noone can understand him better thn Sanyukta. Thr was pain and not anger when he said tht dont call that lady her mother. Sanyukta didnt retort like earlier for she understood tht he didnt mean it. He didnt retort when she said tht thy hid it from him because thy cared for him. He has accepted in a way tht thy both do really care for him. but he is going to retaliate for a while and his dad is going to come to brainwash him again. What remains to be seen is will his affections and feelings remain same for Sanyukta or will he try to bury it deep down and will Sanyukta b able to reciprocate any of it! She has her engagement coming up. She has her dream to follow. She cant b really thr for Randhir at this moment. Nor are her feelings so strong right now . We know tht she is not going to sacrifice her career or her dream. So either Randhir has to overcome his insecurities or Sanyukta has to let to go certain things if thy want this rship to work! well, tuff questions ahead for thm!
Right now, i hope thr focus goes back to thr studies and tasks. This Tech Fest track luks promising. I have gut feeling tht Rao's mystery mite get solved. Also we mite c new level of bonding betn Vardhan and his students. I wud like to c more of Kaustuki-Sanyu and Randhir-jiggi. Arpita-Parth-Vidhushi angle wud b intrsting. I guess Parth shud understand vidushi. Thy come from same background and he too has a criminal record and v know how evil vidushi already is! It shudnt b hard for him to handle Vidhushi in tht sense!😆 Arpita doesnt feature anywhere in this story. I dont want her back. She has nothing to do with Sanyukta's story and i totally dont want an additional character eating up precious screen space of Sanyukta, Randhir, Vardhan, and all other mates! I wud rathr c Yo-Yo or even PKC wud do!😆
I know this turned out to b a really really really long post. Bt plz bear with it. I wont b writing any soon anyhow, now tht i have vented out my thoughts!😆😆😆
But please do comment and tell me what you feel about this.😳
