Sach Ka Saamna breaches no official rule: STAR Plus
Ashish Sinha / New Delhi July 28, 2009, 0:14 IST

STAR Plus, the general entertainment channel, has said its reality show, Sach Ka Saamna, has not violated any programming guidelines prescribed under the existing cable laws in the country.
On July 22, the I&B ministry had issued a showcause notice to STAR Plus for alleged violation of section 5 of the Cable TV (Regulation) Act, 1995, for showing a television programme that depicts "vulgarity, indecency and is against good taste". The ministry gave time till July 27 to respond to the notice.
STAR Plus sources say it is based on an international game show and it does not, in any manner, depict obscenity or vulgarity. "STAR Plus is airing a parental guidance warning during the telecast of each of the episodes. Also, the show is being aired at a late night timing of 10.30 pm. The channel has not violated any provisions of the programming code," said a company source requesting anonymity. However, when asked to comment, a company spokesperson declined to do so.
In the show, the contestants are asked 21 varied and intimate questions about their personal and professional life.
