Answer is there in my first sentence, it was not her intention, and people I have mentioned above have committed crimes with intention. That's the difference. Even in bigamy of Dharam she has no role to play, because she was not informed that Dharam is already married. She might not be perfect and have grey shade, but she has her own limits, she won't stoop to planning and plotting murders.

You dont become bad because of any accident, it's her bad luck that such accident happens with her again and again, but she has never planned them.

Like Gopi killed Radha, but it was not pre planned, it was just a self defense, so it doesn't make her a hard core criminal or bad person.

@BOLD . How could she think that Dharam was unmarried when she knew that her sister was getting married to Shravan who is the son of Dharam. She should have found out about whether the first wife was alive or dead or if they were legally separated. She simply got married to Dharam in haste just to take revenge. A silly act done in haste for which she has to repent.

That's true.

Some research was required before marriage, but it was better for her to avoid this marriage, not like she was in love, she was doing it for a silly revenge. This marriage has messed up her relationship with vidya.

But, Dharam is more responsible because it was his marriage and he was getting into bigamy. Meera might have assumed anything like divorcee of widower, but she was not informed that Dharam is not officially separated from his first wife, her involvement with a married man was not intentional.

Yes, right now she is acting dumb. She wants to finish a marriage which does not exist at all, acting like a widow of a person who was not herror husband.

Yes, the act was one of physical violence and was unprovoked. Under the IPC as it stands, I believe the relevant section would be 'culpable homicide' because even though the outcome of the shove was unintentional, the shove or the push in itself wasn't. Further, she wasn't under influence of intoxicants and as a sane and educated adult, would've been aware of the consequences of her action, something similar to rash driving that causes grievous injury or death of a pedestrian.

The character is still being shown in a somewhat positive light because one of the job requirements of the CVs is to always pander to the warped sense of feminism of the watching/acting housewives. Curiously, the same CVs jailed Gopi to make a sacrificial, masochistic Goddess out of her when the event was one of self-defense as there was clear and imminent danger to her and the baby's life from Radha. Meera's act on the other hand is quite different. As you can have only one Tyaag or Balidan Ki Murti per show, Gopi is the only one who'll ever suffer for her mistakes. The rest will go scot-free and live happily ever after with certificates of moral righteousness issued by the high authority of Shrimati Shrimati Kokila Modi.

The difference between Gopi & others is that Gopi covers up for others mistakes & also takes the blame on herself. The Modi family had plenty of evidence against Radha which was enough to prove that Gopi did that for self defense as well as for protecting others. The CV's didn't show what are the arguments that took place in the court. She had killed Radha for self defense as well as for saving Rashi which is pardonable. If Gopi got punished, she must have screwed up the entire thing.
