Guys i was surfing and i saw this.
Here's the list why you should watch Saath nibhana sathiya' an Indian show airing on star plus and not Zindagi gulzar hai', a Pakistani show aired on Zindagi'.
1. Saath nibhana Sathiya' has Gopi bahu.
What more do you want from an Indian bahu. She is an orphan who was sheltered by her uncle. And just like Cinderella troubled by her aunt and still remained calm, cute and happy. She does manage doing household chores, leaving her hair open. She never went to school, has no friends, but knows everything about make up as her makeup does not ruin even when she wakes up early morning. After she gets married, she becomes a cow for her mother in law and takes all her nonsense happily. Our Gopi bahu is just flawless, as an Indian bahu is expected to be.
On the other hand Zindagi Gulzar hai' has this upsettingly realistic Kashaf', who is not an orphan??... OMG the plot itself is so wrongly realistic. Her father has married another woman as her mother gave birth to three daughters. Again that really happens, for God's sake... why do you have to show that in a show. Kahsaf's mother is a school principal and their house looks like a school principal's house, which has three dependent daughters. Please excuse us...we have serials which shows a huge house with a drawing room, full of decorative even if it is a peons house. Unlike Gopi bahu, Kashaf has no knowledge of makeup; she travels in buses to reach her college and gets tired by the end of the day. How funny... The lead actress gets tired??... Our Gopi bahu is never ever tired. Kashaf also lives on her terms after marriage even though she respects her husband and her in laws. Ohhh! Please!...we don't need a bahu who cannot behave like a cow!
2. Saath nibhana Sathiya' has Ahemji
Our Ahemji is so quite with few scenes and dialogues to be delivered. He loves his mother so much that he marries an illiterate girl even after being the most eligible bachelor of the town. He starts loving his wife, our adorable Gopi bahu, as she is full of sacrifices. He doesn't come into picture until there's a high need of showing that in this women's world of daily soaps there are a few men too.
Zindagi gulzar hai' has Zaroon...
okay the girls...
now he might be handsome, but look at those muscles...unlike our daily soap heroes; he has not at all taken the pain of building his body. So what if he can act far better than them. Zaroon likes Kashaf, not because she is a baby doll or she can be a traditional bahu kind of thing but only because of her clean character. He is considered in the scenes evenly as the other females in the show do.
3. Saath nibhana sathiya' has Kokila Ben'
Kokila Ben', Ahem's mother. I know you don't need that introduction because the name is taken so many times in each episode. Our stereotype saas Kokila Ben gives an impression how all the mother in law of our country should be. She is strict, rude and a perfectionist. She is loaded with jewelry and heavy banarasi sari all the time as she is rich. Though she says that she takes care of the whole Modi mansion, she is found having all the time to poke her nose into all the affairs related or not related to her in the serial. She says anything and everything to her Gopi Bahu and Gopi bahu as we discussed before, remains her pet cow.
Zindagi gulzar hai' gives you Ghazala, Zaroon's mother. Yes her name is Ghazala in the show. Very few might have noticed her name because usually we call a lady of this age as mom' or aunty' unlike Kokila Ben Modi. But damn, this is a realistic show! Ghazala is shown in fewer scenes than Zaroon and Kashaf for the obvious reason that 1 - the story is not about her, 2- she is shown as a working woman who is busy in her business trips. Though being as rich as Kokila Ben is, she is not loaded with jewelry and make up. Now why should we watch such serials where we cannot find out the latest sari or jewelry trends?
4. Saath nibhana sathiya' has long celebrations like Janmashtami and Navratra every year which continues at least for 10 to 12 episodes. Those episodes will cover everything from Gopi bahu preparing all the offerings and stitching clothes for Kanhaji and Mata Rani to Kokila Ben giving her expert comments on Gopi bahu's preparations.
Zindagi Gulzar hai' doesn't even show a full episode on the celebrations and long rituals like mehandi, haldi, sangeet etc. etc. of Zaroon and Kashaf's wedding. In fact even the first night scene also had only dialogues between the couple, huh!
5. Saath Nibhana sathiya' being true to its name is with us since 2010 and I believe will be there almost like forever with us . It gifted us a brand new Gopi bahu after a few episodes. It keeps gifting us new characters like Gopi's dead parents and sister. Or Gopi's new cousin Paridhi
Zindagi gulzar hai' had only 26 episodes. Lol... that's like a joke for the team of Saath nibhana sathiya' on which they can shoot 27 more episodes showing the whole Modi family laughing and enjoying the joke.
6. Last but not the least our dearest Indian television show; Saath nibhana sathiya' does not require any kind of brain utilization to watch it. Whereas you need to be a little thoughtful if you like to watch the bitch Pakistani show, Zindagi gulzar hai'.
